Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort

6/10 Okay

"You gave a $300 room credit. We were used to the $300 room credit.And when we registered , they didn't tell us it was a coupon book and then give us the coupon book. The bar staff was great, we had problems with our room, the ceiling was following in the shower and leaking sewer water , regular water, call for repair 3 times that came in and mudded. But they didn't fix the water leak or sewage leaked and I kept leaking in the mud kept dropping out of the ceiling again and again. They finally moved us to another room and upgraded us to a ocean front, which was nice. But when we got into the room, the TV was on couldn't control it. If only had to come in and replace the TV controller. There was no trash cans in the room. And only one chair on the deck. Of course , it took almost the whole evening to move from one room to the other so I lost a whole evening of entertainment with my family. When we tried to schedule reservations at restaurants 9 people , there unable to accommodate."

"The resort was nice, staff was friendly but they have very inconvenient restaurant hours. We arrived on a Wednesday and both buffets were close and we were never informed at check in. In order to have a meal we needed a reservation and there were no openings until 9:30 and it was 6 pm. Also the buffet closes at 11am when it’s open and there’s no other place to get food until 12:30pm. I’ve stayed in waaayyy cheaper places than this and they’ve always had snack bars and/or have the buffets open all day. Was very disappointed at that. Otherwise the amenities were really nice, very pretty hotel"

"Overall I rate this resort 7.5/10 The sargassum is VERY very bad, the first night we arrived I (not exaggerating) nearly vomited, it is insanely bad smell, every time we left the room we got hit in the face by the smell, defo avoid if you are sensitive to smells. We did get used to the smell though We arrived May 30th and the place was about 25/30% full which was great for us as we like peace We were very disappointed as the buffet was only open for breakfast the time we spent there which is quite misleading as it says there is a buffet for breakfast lunch and dinner The breakfast was REALLY poor!! I was so disappointed with the options, they also did not have fly fans to keep flies away so anything that’s not hot, fruit, salad, cheeses, bread etc etc were COVERED in flies which is insanely gross!! 12pm-5pm there is 2 restaurants available with decent amount of options for food& the food was 7/10 in both places There is a coffee store which is not too bad although one lady pre-batches her espresso so it’s not fresh, it was not busy enough for this to happen. In the same store there was drinks, beer&chips you could use your points for which was awesome! We didn’t use all our points For dinner there are 2 restaurants, the Italian was so good!! The pizzas were to die for! The steak place was below average, we only went twice as we preferred Italian Overall the service from the staff was really good, I do not see myself coming back because the smell & secluded area& no beach"
