"We got there just after 6pm. The place was open but there is no reception, nor was anyone there to greet us and no phone number to call. Fortunately there was a couple of guys staying there who were able to call someone who let us into our room. I couldn’t remember if this was a pay at property or if we had prepaid so I asked the guy who told me we owed €75. "We booked this hotel, last minute for a one night stop off on our way home after a few weeks travelling through Europe and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. We booked a classic room (cheapest) and it was superb, the AC worked very well in the heat, the room was huge with a seating area, great bathroom and separate toilet. We didn’t use the spa but the pool was quiet and very welcoming after a long drive. The staff all deserve a mention as the service is second to none but the highlight was the evening meal in the restaurant, we had planned to eat on the bistro as we thought the food in the main Michelin guide restaurant would be a bit fancy for us (we love good food but aren’t reay foodies) but as this wasn’t an option due to the bistro being closed we gave it a go and we’re glad we did as it was fantastic. We ended up having a main course and dessert each but this was accompanied by an amous bouche (thinks that’s how you spell it!), a huge hunk of bread and a pallet cleanser between courses, the wine list is extensive and way over my head but we managed to find a lovely bottle of Puilly fuilles to suit our taste and budget!! I should also mention that the restaurant terrace is beautiful especially when the sun go s down and the lights are on. Anyway, to summarise - great hotel, fabulous staff and restaurant!!"
