This is simply a fantastic hotel - a real gem. We loved our stay - beautiful surroundings, including private hotel use of the gardens and thermal pool after 4.30pm and excellent food. The hotel was fantastic — beautifully maintained, with a delicious breakfast, and the charm of being right in Furnas made the whole experience even better. We loved strolling through the village and discovering some lovely local restaurants. But the real highlight? Staying here came with access to the incredible Terra Nostra Garden. Spending the day soaking in the thermal pool, lounging in the hot tub, and wandering through the lush gardens was absolute heaven. We’d come back in a heartbeat!

Stayed for three nights. Comfortable room with lots of amenities. The Terra Nostra garden is amazing and could spend the entire time there if you wanted to. The restaurant is very good and above my expectations. Didn’t get a chance to try the sushi restaurant but maybe next time.. Staff is exceptional as well, freindly and professional.

This property was absolutely beautiful!! Being able to wander the gardens at night, restaurants on premise, beautiful art deco design, and wonderful staff, really made this place amazing. We had a beautiful room in the old part of the hotel, overlooking the garden, but we were above the kitchen and 2 of 3 nights, the movement in the kitchen was very noisy requiring earplugs at a minimum… so another room would be better. Breakfast was very good and plentiful and the staff attentive. We had 2 dinners in the bar both of which were excellent and reasonably priced. We had a rental car which was nice to get out and see the sights.

This hotel is an amazing place with a world class Botanical Garden attached and beautiful thermal baths throughout, guests have 24 hour access to both. They have an indoor pool steam and dry sauna. The staff is very well trained and for the most part local. Everything for the client! The restaurant is 4 star and the breakfast extensive and delicious. We came to have lunch 6 months ago and vowed to come stay the next time we flew to Portugal. Well worth the trip and it will not be our last.

This is a beautiful hotel - like a 1930s ocean liner berthed in the most glorious gardens. Although the large thermal pool was closed for maintenance the smaller ' jacuzzi's and indoor pool made up for this. The breakfasts were really excellent with the best selection of pastries i have ever come across. We also ate in the Gardeners bar which was very nice indeed. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful
