What an absolute dream of a space - inside and out! We loved every minute of our stay at Furnas Lake Forest Living. The location is a perfect home base for getting around the island, exploring hot springs, and hiking. There are several local hikes within walking distance or 5-10 mins driving. The decor is sleek and comfortable with lovely attention to detail. We also had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant which is a MUST-- the best food we had during our stay. We'd highly recommend Furnas and are eager to return as well.

Beautiful Resort - Needs Some Amenities
I should say to start - the resort overall is beautiful and location wonderful. The unit we stayed in was spacious and clean; the restaurant is fantastic, both in terms of quality and appearance; the staff are friendly and helpful. However, there a couple issues that are related to climate and location that the resort needs to account for. Things get wet and stay wet - there was basically no means to dry our clothes. There are no dryers or fans in the units, so it is impossible to get rid of moisture, given the high humidity and nearly constant rain. The unit definitely smelled of mildew and, perhaps, mold - not the healthiest I am sure. At the very least, providing guests with strong fans I think is essential...

It was lovely and quiet and the staff were helpful and polite. The owners and their dog were lovely too. The only comment I would make was that our son was sleeping on the sofa bed and there was no blinds to stop the light coming in and woke him up early in the mornings. Great ti be able to walk to the lake and be close to the village to enjoy the thermal spas. Extremely quiet and the ducks were great entertainment following us around for bread x

Green Island retreat
The property is beautiful, just outside of Furnas and across from the lake. The location is convenient toward the eastern side of the island, and it is still easy driving to Ponta Delgada and the western island for day trips. The villas are comfortable, but with dated interiors. This is the main opportunity for improving the overall experience. It has a rustic cabin / cottage feel, with some modern touches. The on-site restaurant is in a class of its own. The food is excellent, although pricey. Worthwhile for at least one meal, but you can get very good value at other nearby options or cooking in your villa if you prefer. An enjoyable experience in a unique place.

Can't fault a thing - everything was great! Surroundings were amazing, with hikes around the lake starting straight from the hotel. The bungalows were really lovely to stay in. The dinner in the restaurant was the best of our trip, and in our cabin we also had food cooked in the volcanic ground from 5 mins away from the hotel!

Secluded property pure peace and relaxation. Need a car but great base to explore the island. Lovely helpful staff but not intrusive. Self catering apartments but restaurant on site which provides breakfast and dinner at extra cost.

AMAZING place to stay!!
The Furnas Lake Villas were our favorite place we stayed while visiting Sao Miguel for our honeymoon! The grounds were gorgeous and quiet - but centrally located as well! The villas were spacious, clean and super lovely! We fell asleep listening to frogs delightfully chirping and woke up with the sound of birdsong! The breakfast was lovely (they have their own honey!) but dinner was BY FAR the BEST we had our whole trip!! I wish we had booked more nights here! We LOVED it! Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

This is a beautiful property, and you can tell that the staff have put a lot of thought into every detail. I was traveling with my mom, and we loved our experience. The room was spacious (bedroom, bathroom, living room, small but nice kitchen, porch) and well-designed, the architecture very cool, the grounds lovely - a great place to come home to after a long day of adventures. The staff was warm, welcoming and helpful, giving us great tips on where to go and where to find things we needed. Lastly, the breakfast buffet was perfect - great variety of local, quality items. This hotel is about 40 minutes drive to Ponta Delgada and 20 minutes to Vila Franca do Campo, but the drive is beautiful. You are close to Furnas, which has the Terra Nostra botanical gardens and a bunch of restaurants, as well as the beach town of Ribeira Quenta, which we loved. I highly recommend this hotel!

The villa was fantastic - very scenic, tranquil and well designed. We loved the open space and decor. Breakfast was delicious and we really enjoyed experiencing the cozido preparation and meal! Great staff who were very helpful. Also enjoyed seeing the horses and ducks on the property.

Great, remote getaway in nature
Lovely place, remote, beautiful buildlings and friendly staff. Location is beautiful and very green, nearby several walks and the village of Furans. Slightly frustrating that breakfast wasn't included and at such a high price but the kitchen helped alleviate this. We had a minor issue with ants in the kitchen our first day but this was quickly remedied.

Wonderful Stay!
We had an incredible time at Furnas Lake Villas. The property was so peaceful and serene and had a great location next to beautiful Furnas Lake, which was lovely to walk around or visit the caldeiras to watch your dinner being cooked! The town of Furnas is very cute and quaint and has lots to do as well. We really enjoyed our breakfasts at the villas...freshly made breads, cakes and pastries, and homemade jams, custards, yogurt and honey. (They source as much from the property as they can!) Also, local cheeses and meats, pancakes, eggs and cereal. The service was impeccable and Mariana and Miguel were always there for anything we needed. We can’t wait to go back!

Many thanks to Helena, Manual and all at Furnas Lake Villa for providing an unforgettable stay. The location was idyllic and our villa was fantastic. We stayed in the converted barn which was open plan with two bathrooms, a wood stove and great kitchen.

My sister and I recently stayed at the furnas lake villas and have only positive reviews about our stay. The staff was so accommating and helpful during our time. We highly recommend doing the "Cozido" dinner with the hotel. Absolutely wonderful experience and you can even see your dinner being pulled out of the hot springs near by. 5 mins from the city center of Furnas with many restaurants and grocery stores. We cannot wait to come back!

Nice peaceful oasis
Beautiful setting to relax yet close to activities. Loved the view out the living room. The small kitchen feels bigger when you open the sliders that connect it to the covered porch. Very friendly and helpful staff. We ate their vegetarian version of cozido (food cooked in the calderas) and it was quit good -- finally chopped veggies and beans in a spicy sauce. Enough food for two meals.

Amazing family-run location in paradise at the Furnas lake and a short drive from Furnas village. The cottages are super, well furnished and with a very good bed. There is a small outdoor area to enjoy your morning coffee amidst hydrangeas! It is easy to keep distance and I recommend staying here even now with the ongoing Covid pandemic. Last but not least, the staff are very friendly.

The apartment was spacious, clean, stylish and it was nicely decorated. The kitchen was well equipped and the large windows brought the nature inside view inside. The staff was very friendly and smiley and eager to help. I liked the wood elements in and out of the houses.

Schöne Lokalität zum Entspannen
Die Hotelanlage befindet sich gegenüber eines Kratersees. Die heißen Quellen am Rande des Sees sind zu besichtigen (50 Cent Parkgebühr). Außerdem liegt auf der anderen Seite ein Botanischer Garten (Eintritt ca. 3-4 €). Wir umwanderten den See vom Hotel aus in etwa 1,5 Std. Einkaufen kann man nahe im Kurort Furnas. Dieser liegt ca. 5 km entfernt und bietet Thermal-Quellen, Restaurants, kleinere Supermärkte sowie eine Bäckerei und eine Metzgerei. Größere Supermäkte findet man in der Nähe von Ponta Delgada, Lagoa und Ribeira Grande. Auf der Nordseite der Insel existieren zwei Tee-Plantagen (ebenfalls zu Besichtigen) Dort gibt es auch einen Shop mit Cafe. Vor allem die Küstenorte und die dortigen Restaurants erinnern an Madeira oder an die Kanaren. Allerdigs ist die Vegetation auf Sao Miguel um einiges üppiger was an den häufigen Regenfällen liegen dürfte...und damit auch zum wesentlichen: Der Herbst oder Winter eignen sich unserer Meinung nach als Reisezeit nur bedingt für die Azoren. Die Klimaanlage in unserem Bungalow zeigte keinen Heizeffekt. Kaminholz war vorhanden und wurde auf Wunsch nachgereicht. Allerdings war dieses stark feucht und ich verbrauchte beim anfeuern jedesmal eine Ganze Menge Grillanzünder. Oft ging das Feuer schnell wieder aus und man musste vor jedem neuen Versuch jedesmal geraume Zeit warten bis der Qualm wieder aus dem Ofen abzog. Den hatte man nämlich ansonsten beim öffnen des Ofentürchens im Raum. Morgens Frühstückten wir meist in Winterjacken.

Mukava paikka rentoutumiseen. Meidän asunto oli vähän huonolla paikalla, kun muista asunnoista näki suoraan meidän asuntoon. Verhot olohuoneessa olivat olemattomat, joten omaa yksityisyyttä ei hirveästi ollut. Vuokrattavat pyörät eivät olleet kovin hyväkuntoisia. Kylpyammeen tulppa ei passannut ammeeseen, joten kylvyssä ei voinut olla. Muutoin siisti ja viihtyisä.

Estadia fantástica muito devido à simpatia das pessoas e paisagem de tirar a respiração. Com o bónus de ter animais como galinhas, vacas e cavalos à solta... A comida caseira com produtos da horta dos próprios rematou a experiencia. Apartamento confortável com internet, lareira, decoração e limpeza cuidada, ao lado do lago das Furnas e próximo da cidade das Furnas.

Ruhe und Entspannung garantiert! TOP!
Wir haben eine Unterkunft auf den Azoren gesucht, die Ruhig gelegen ist und als guter Startpunkt für diverse Erkundigungen dient. Die Fuhrmanns Lake Villas haben sich dazu sehr gut geeignet! Auch die Gastfreundschaft der Eigentümer war sehr zuvorkommend und immer Hilfsbereit. Man kann abends wunderbar sich den Kamine anmachen und durch die großen Fenster die Natur beobachten. Das Frühstück ist für "Normal-Hungrige" genau richtig portioniert. Das Frühstück wird einem als Picknickkorb ins Apartment gebracht. Wichtig: Mietwagen ist Pflicht! Die nächste Stadt zum Einkaufen (Furnas) ist ca. 7 Autominuten entfernt. Dort befinden sich auch "Hot Pools". Unser Gesamteindruck: wir kommen gerne ein weiteres Mal hierher!
