Belem Tower is located in the town of Bethlehem, county and district of Lisbon in Portugal. On the right bank of the Tagus river, where there was once the beach of Bethlehem, it was originally surrounded by water around its perimeter. "Room was clean and well-appointed. Bathroom likewise. One criticism: the bathtub needs a verticle hand bar to help older folks get in and out of the tub. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The restaurent served an excellent dinner. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choices. The exception was the coffee, which was obtained through one of those machines that offered various types of coffee with the push of a button."
