Very spacious room but quite tired. TV remotes were very random and seemed to control the wrong TV.
Reception staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.
Breakfast very average considering it’s an extra cost.
It is in nice location. It is Gaia which is across the river from Porto but not as crowded. Nice views of Porto during sunset and nights. Very convenient for tarnsportation.
Pros:
- Friendly staff
- New and modernist facility
- Spacious rooms
- Comfortable main bed (see below for subsidiary "bed")
Cons:
- Our main complaint is that we rented a room with two beds, as we have two teenagers. Unfortunately the 'bed' in one of the rooms was a sofa that had been opened up. Sometimes sofas can be comfortable. This one was not. It was almost impossible to sleep in it comfortably...perhaps by small children only.
- The breakfast offering was quite extensive and the staff were very friendly. But 20 euros per person seemed a tad expensive for what one got.
- The parking spots were quite narrow and many were difficult to enter because of the placement of structural columns. Always managed to find and squeeze into a spot. But still an odd parking experience.
We were greeted by very nice staff who were able to speak English which is always nice since we are still learning Portuguese. They were all captivated with our puppy and were excited to have us there. Everyone was very helpful. But then to my surprise we were given a free upgrade to a suite. The suite was very nice and it was nice to have so much room with the puppy. After checking in room staff brought a dog bed, a little bowl, and a bone. That was such a special thoughtful service. There is also food places nearby. We had pizza at a little place that we walked to in town center. We enjoyed the place so much we will be using it again this week.
We were here for business and had just stayed at this location a few weeks before. The first time the staff working was different and were friendly and helpful. We were also given an upgrade to a suite. We had our pup and the staff loved him. This time the guy that helped us was not as friendly and helpful mumbled rather than speaking clearly and looking at me when speaking. We were not offered anything although we are VIP Hotel.com users. I didn’t enjoy this stay as much as the the previous stay.
Rooms were nice and the hotel was beautiful. Loved that they had their on coffee shop for a quick snack and coffee in the mornings. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Lisboa.
I didn't use the pool or the gym, so I can't comment much on them. I did enter the gym and noticed lack of equipment. One guy was in there hogging up the one treadmill and bike. I think the hotel could use a refillable water station in the gym as well.
Our room was very clean and the staff were hospitable. Everyone knew English well, at least to my knowledge. The hotel was located centrally to all the places we wanted to visit, so that was convenient.
I wish I had a chance to visit the bar but I lacked enough time on my stay. However, I ate dinner at the restaurant in the lobby. The food was better than average and had to say decently priced as an American.
Lastly, the best part of this hotel was the breakfast. If you can, add the breakfast into the price of your stay, its a well valued deal. The bread, pastries, and the freshly squeezed juices were exceptional. If you desire eggs and bacon/sausage, they had that too! I personally loved the gourmet coffee to help me wake up in the mornings.
