"Myself and my daughter had a lovely stay at the Moorland hotel. The grounds and setting were marvelous. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Only things that weren't quite right were. Bulb out in bathroom ceiling. Bulb out in mirror in bathroom and door handle in bathroom trapped me inside as it didn't work properly. If my daughter hadn't been with me I don't know how I could have summoned help. On leaving I mentioned these things to reception and hopefully they have been rectified. Apart from that it was lovely and will definitely return."

"Amazing stay. The Vivien Leigh room was excellent, huge, nicely decorated. I can see some might consider it a bit dated but to me it was perfect. Very comfortable bed, sockets either side. The only minor problem with the room was low pressure in the shower, but it was manageable. Parking is simple, the hotel gets busy but plenty of spaces are reserved for guests. Wonderful location in the middle of the moors, with some great walks on the doorstep."

"Absolutely brilliant stay and cannot wait to return and stay again! You are in the heart of Dartmoor and this is a perfect “home base” for hikes or start other adventures in the area. The room was one of the best we’ve had on our long trip. It was so well appointed with a carafe of water, fresh baked granola, coffee, tea, town map, etc.! The breakfast was so delicious! Our host was super friendly and helpful with dinner options the night of our arrival. They even emailed a list of restaurant options in the area. Really enjoyed the well decorated interior, including the beautiful wallpaper. Everything was so super clean!"
