Nice stay for one night, I wouldn’t want to be in it for too long as it lacked the quality of other hotels in the same price range. Bassac lane/street was worth a visit though and this was ideally located for that.
This is a great hotel and the rooms are exactly as they look in the pictures online. They are small but modern, functional and clean. Bassac Street is a 30 second walk from the hotel where you can get almost any type of cuisine you can think of. Great location.
When you get a room for 3 nights for $82, including tax. You gotta be a little nervous. The place was awesome. The people were awesome. It was a great. In a high entertainment district but not too loud. The staff was incredible. If I ever go back to Cambodia, I would stay there again.
Very good property in a great location right on Bassac Lane. Extremely kind and friendly staff. The rooms were good. The first room did have some AC issues and I found a couple of cockroaches in the bathroom but they changed me to a different room immediately and that was great! Would recommend staying here.
They do ask for a security deposit in cash which they return immediately upon checkout (USD or Riel only) so don’t forget to bring cash. You would need cash literally everywhere in Cambodia, even higher end restaurants and bars.
It’s sad that this property rates so poorly because it sits in a prime location next to very good restaurants, nightlife and transportation.
However the place is under renovation and severely under staffed! My room upon check-in was DIRTY! Let’s just say all of the previous guest DNA was still in the room upon my arrival!
The staff are nice and they try to be accommodating but you can tell they’re overwhelmed!
If you’re looking for a cheap place to stay, with an excellent location and you don’t mind more of an unkempt hostel experience, then by all means give this place a try!
If you’re looking for a clean space and what most travelers expect after long flights and days of sightseeing, then you probably want to look elsewhere!
The whole hotels including my room seemed neglected. My feet stuck to the stairway stone as I walked up. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned for 10 years. Second night I found cockroaches. It will close to a bar that played music past 3:00 a.m. One could not sleep. The refrigerator did not work. Check in staff was not friendly they did not like how I put my passport on the counter. Entryway and lobby look like had not been cleaned ever.
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Anyone looking to book, be warned. We paid for a room with a city view and a king bed, but got a view of a tin roof and two single beds. To make matters worse, the room was an absolute health hazard - it was no cleaned (hair, noodle sachet, nuts on the floor, urine in the toilet and a shower that had dirt on the floor). On top of that, the shower was broken, the sheets had large yellow stains on them and the hotel manager, when this was politely brought to her attention, was incredibly rude. Suffice to say, we took the loss and went and stayed at another hotel. If I could give the hotel a zero, I would!
This was my second time at the Times Hotel at Bassac Lane and I was quite disappointed this time around. Check in seemed to take quite awhile and the room I was in this time seemed a little worn. When I turned on the air con, the tray wouldn’t open so I wasn’t getting cool air in the room (it was 38C outside). I tried pressing all the buttons on the remote but still couldn’t get it to work so I went down to the front desk and they told me I had to manually open the tray. They called housekeeping to help and by the time I got back up to my room, the woman from housekeeping had already opened up the door to my room without waiting for me. She then manually opened up the tray and the cool air started to circulate through the room. Not sure if I would go back again.
