"The hotel catered for what you want. We came here thinking it was 5 star all inclusive but in fact it was more like a 4 star. You need to upgrade to get the branded alcohol, or water in bottles. Itās definitely geared towards alcohol. The food is good. There isnāt much to eat throughout the day in terms of snacks. Ice cream in tubs and homemade sandwiches. The pool is lovely and the views are fab. The vibe is nice. Hospitality is lovely and people enjoy themselves. The pool is the best part for me. Mr Marx at customer relations is fantastic. He is friendly, helpful and very personal. He takes an interest in you and remembers things youāve spoken about and is really informative. All hotels should have someone like him. And he speaks 7 languages!!"

"Hotel easy to find, next to large supermarket on a main road, a mile from the cross island route. Some parking, 3 allocated spaces and then on street parking nearby Has a lift but some stairs involved for most rooms. Room was a 2 room apartment with a large lounge/kitchen area, with a large Smart TV, oven, hob and fridge. Balcony off each room, large shower room, and plenty of storage space. Complimentary breakfast was good. Pool area limited, not enough sunbeds and begins to lose sun from about 3pm. Staff were pleasant and helpful. 100yds from the massive beach and its safe promenade full of bars and restaurants leading to town, about a mile away. The main road option I would avoid on foot, parked cars and busy junctions."

"We had a wonderful few days at Aquila Porto Rethymno. The property is beautiful and well maintained and with many additional facilities and games than expected. We went mid-June and had a wonderful time at the pool and beach, easily finding chairs, however, the drinks service was slow. The breakfast spread was delicious and plentiful. Very convenient location with easy walking distance to town."

"The hotel is clean, had great vibe and interior design. Amenities include a small gym with good equipment and a yoga studio. Good was fantastic, great section for meat and non-meat eaters. Restaurant and bar staff very friendly and good service. Good selection of pools, just have to be up early for main pool ābestā beds, with canopies. Canāt fault the hotel but was disappointed with the reception service. We went for our honeymoon and pre-told the hotel. We werenāt given an upgrade like many couple we spoke to and like many reviews show. We actually were given a different room for the 1st night because our original room was broken. Meaning we had to move room the following morning and couldnāt unpack and relax the night of arrival. The room was bigger and reception made it sound like they were giving a complimentary upgrade (for 12 hours), though it was only because they had to and it actually gave us more inconvenience. As a āsorryā we got given the same fruit platter and sparkling that we would have got anyway as it was our honeymoon. After that bad start the rest of the stay was lovely. "
