"Tortuguero is such a cute town! We weren’t sure we wanted to make the drive but we loved it. The boat ride from La Pavona is beautiful and the town is great for walking around and shopping. We took a guided night hike and saw a turtle laying eggs on the beach! The staff were very nice and helpful and the air conditioning in the rooms was nice. Only stayed one night but loved it!"

"Lovely little place five minutes walk from the port. Great air con and nice to share the facilities next door with a great little
pool and lovely breakfast. All the staff were great. The only improvement I would suggest is a fridge and coffee maker in the room, and we think someone could make some money offering a bag carrying service from the port with a cart! It’s very hot with heavy bags. But overall a lovely stay - thank you! "

"We had a lovely relaxing stay. Immaculately maintained gardens and cute
pool area. The rooms and common areas were clean and comfortable. No tvs so you can relax but connected to strong WiFi should you need that. Access to beach walks and canal tours. Friendly staff helpful when you have questions. Lots of birds and wildlife come up to the property gardens, Pura vida. "

"This felt like hostel style accommodation at hotel prices. Tired, old towels and gaps that insects could get in. No added extras. Lots of school groups and the day we weee there for breakfast (most times we missed it as out on early start trips) was poor. You can use the Evergreen swimming
pool next door, it was nice to see wildlife (daily visit from the monkeys) and we enjoyed the water taxis into Tortuguero. I’d either pay extra to stay at Evergreen (cabins liked a lot nicer) or stay in...

"The only thing I didn't like was the restaurant. We ordered two lobster dinners and were served shrimp. When we stole the waitress that we ordered lobster and got shrimp, she looked at our plates and said, "no, that is lobster." I said no it is not and so did my grandson. Then she came back and said they could correct only one plate. I said, "how is that reasonable? We ordered two lobster plates and got shrimp. Why wouldn't you correct both?" It was a big to do and by the time I got my dinner, I had lost my appetite. Both the shrimp and lobster were over cooked."
