NO AC, Misleading Photos, Mismatched Rooms — A Frustrating Experience
I booked a “Superior Room” based on the modern, polished photos of renovated rooms shown online. What I got on arrival was something entirely different: an older, outdated room with no air conditioning, worn furnishings, and a musty smell. When I raised concerns, I was told this was a “different type of superior room” — which made no sense based on what was advertised.
At one point, I was even told there’s only one room like the one in the pictures… and that it was currently under renovation. Confused? So was I. Why renovate a room that’s supposedly already been renovated?
After a lengthy discussion — and with other guests overhearing the conversation — I was finally moved to the type of room I had originally booked. But that only happened after significant back-and-forth that felt more like haggling in a market than checking into a hotel.
This experience was incredibly disappointing, especially after a long day of travel. It felt misleading, avoidable, and not in the spirit of good hospitality. Is it too much to ask to get the product as advertised that I paid for in good faith, without hassle? I just wanted what I paid for. I don’t get the Zero-Sum mentality here. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere unless you’re prepared to haggle your way into the room you thought you booked.
