The views of Palermo from our balcony were great and being outside the city centre away from the hustle and bustle was refreshing. If you have a car it is definitely easier to come and go (driving is not for the faint of heart though, so be warned) being that it is up the mountain, but they provide a shuttle service both to and from the city centre and airport for a reasonable price.
