Oslo Winter Park

Oslo Winter Park showing rides and a suspension bridge or treetop walkway
Carve tracks on perfectly groomed runs and watch daredevils on Norway’s Olympic superpipe at this stunning resort area a short distance from central Oslo.

Perched high on Oslo’s Tryvann slopes, Oslo Winter Park looks out over the city. It is the favored local ski spot for residents of Norway’s capital. Hit the slopes at this beautifully maintained city resort and explore a wide range of runs, exciting terrain parks and an impressive superpipe open to the public. Visit Oslo Winter Park to combine the city lifestyle with alpine excitement.

Find a wide stretch of skiable terrain, from green-graded beginner runs to more challenging slopes accessible via an express chairlift and smaller lifts. The resort’s ski school offers individual and group classes to skiers and boarders with a range of abilities. Check out the beginners’ area with your instructor or be guided to different parts of the mountain.

Work on your freestyle skiing or snowboarding technique at the terrain parks. They are graded into easy and intermediate levels and include a range of ramps, kickers, rails and boxes. Learn new tricks on the terrain park halfpipe or test your nerves on the superpipe.

While on Tryvann, see professionals tackling the nearby Holmenkollen ski jump, an Olympic-standard futuristic jump with a run-in that juts out into the sky.

Test the latest models of ski equipment at the comprehensive ski rental store. You can also rent top-of-the-line ice skates for gliding across frozen ponds. Take a break at one of the cafés at the resort’s base or purchase a delicious Scandinavian snack from the bakery.

Split your day between the city and the ski slopes. All of Oslo Winter Park’s slopes are floodlit so take advantage of night skiing opportunities. Lifts remain open until late in the evening most days during ski season.

Access Oslo Winter Park easily via car, bus or subway. The high slopes are a 15-minute walk or short shuttle bus ride from the Voksenkollen subway stop. Alternatively, catch public transportation to the base at Wyller. The park’s season runs between December and April.

Enjoy the varied attractions of Oslo Winter Park in one of Europe’s most welcoming cities. Immerse yourself in Oslo’s museums, music concerts and wintry wonderland.

Bit of a blizzard blowing when we visited but many Norwegians out skiing and tobogganing.
