We stayed at the hotel for four nights and found all the staff very helpful and courteous. The room was a great size. Both the room and bathroom were very clean. The breakfast was absolutely fabulous. It was out of the center of town and was more on the quiet side, but was nicely located to access trams and busses. I would highly recommend this for a future trip.

Disliked: Amenities
No airconditioning, coffee bar in the room was never replenished, room size too small, very good location
Clean, quiet, air conditioning, good breakfast, nice location near the Royal Palace near a good neighborhood (St. Hanshaugen is nearby). Standard sized room provided enough room for luggage and one chair for someone to sit, along with a fridge. It was also about a 10-15 min walk from the National Theater transit location, which was convenient. Recommend!
I really enjoyed my stay at the Scandic Holberg. The room was gorgeous - spacious and I loved the sky lights bringing in natural light. The bed was very comfortable. The daily breakfast is amazing! Wonderful to see so many guests there each morning enjoying it. A highly recommended place to stay - close to the tram and local sites!
The hotel is in a good location in that you can reach most of the sites in the city within a 10 to 15 minute walk. The breakfast is great and the staff is very helpful. I had a handicap so it was nice of the stop to upgrade me to a bigger room. Be aware if you have a handicap that there are a couple of steps you will have to navigate at the entrance of the hotel. Once you are inside the hotel, there are ramps where necessary.
The staff was friendly and helpful but the room had the conditioner bottle not working and at times room became too hot.
Overall, location was great and we had fun
Every time we are in Oslo we stay in this hotel. Its clean, great location, parking is 50 m away and affordable. Its easy to park until you unload your suitcases and its allowed tobsray with a dog. And friendly people who work there. If you want luxury you have to go to some other place, if you want functional, clean and nicely located hotel we recommend it. And breakfast is great if you order it. Really great.
We enjoyed our stay at the Holberg hotel. The property itself was a beautiful building, easy access to public transportation or a short walk to main attractions. The breakfast was excellent and had many fresh options. There was a lot of street noise echoing in our room, and the room itself was on the small side.
We had a lovely stay at Scandic Holberg, staff, service, location and breakfast all excellent, one small thing we were in a corner room and the bathroom was very small other than that great stay
The hotel has a privileged location, next to royal palace and a train station, the staff is friendly and intended to do the stay comfortable! I stayed In two Scandic hoteles during my stay in Norway and they were an excellent choice!
We loved our room, which was well appointed and comfortable. It was an easy walk from the train station. The breakfast was excellent! We would recommend the Scandic Holberg to anyone staying in Bergen.
Scandic Hotels are always different and unique and the Holberg was just that. The room was large, comfortable and well furnished. You can see the Radisson Blu tower from your window. It looks like hell on earth, tiny rabbit hutch generic corporate rooms. The Holberg has a bit of character !
Two Minor gripes: A coffee pod machine that needed a degree in engineering to work (and no Tea !) and The Trams.
The Holberg is on three major tram lines and the trams are frequent from 5am to 12pm. You edit it out after a while but that first tram of the morning is a rude awakening !
There are lots of local restaurants. Read the reviews and carefully think about making the extra effort to go downtown. The trams are frequent and regular and covered by your Oslo card or Ruter Pass.
One more thing: The RFB5 Flugbus goes from just across from the hotel direct to the airport. However, as with the FlugTrains, you can not buy tickets for these through Ruter despite them claiming that you can. Get the Tram to Oslo S and then the VY R12 NOK134 one way - half the cost and half the time. Only consider the FlugBus if you can't walk from the tram stop to Oslo S.
