Really special spot. The gentleman at the front desk opened up the zazen room for me to participate in a live program the evening I arrived. Tons of Buddhist literature and instructions if you are interested in that! Super cozy room, comfy beds and sleep attire. They give you the cutest slippers to take home and offer you a bag of silica to use to soak with in the bath. Truly a unique and special place. So grateful to have stayed there. I love the traditional tatami mat with all the added comforts (warm toilets).

Lovely Zazen meditation offered free for the hotel residents by monks in the temple nearby. Learnt how to do Zazen properly. Mind refreshed after days of sightseeing and touristic excitement. Rooms are spacious (compared to most city hotels), clean and reasonable price.

Beautiful hotel, and pleasantly smelled like incense; enjoyed attending morning services at nearby Aizen-do Shomanin temple with the staff and the shojin ryori breakfast they served (okayu rice porridge, tofu, miso soup with sweet potatoes, and various tsukemono pickles to choose from)

Beautiful hotel, super comfortable, with excellent breakfast. Location is perfect -- a 20 min walk from the chaos of Dotonburi, near Sinsekai, but an oasis of calm. Highly recommended.

The hotel was really nice, but it was in the middle of what seemed like a residential area. The closest convenience was at least a 5 min walk. The train stations were at least 7 min away. Other than that, the hotel room was very spacious and the staff and amenities were excellent.

Clean, neat, and quiet place. I also took part in the morning ceremony and meal and it was very interesting. Only me and another Japanese person went. Since I speak both English and Chinese, the tour guide from the hotel translated the service for me in Chinese. The meal was pretty good for a temple fare.

Extremely polite and friendly staff! The complimentary trip arranged early in the morning to a local temple has been a special treat! Monk’s breakfast also was a pleasant delight!

Beautiful place with very good vibes. A little bit far from subway station but if you like walking 10~15 it'd ideal for you. Good wifi, good stream of hot water, music in the room (which you can adjust), recommended.

Loved the traditional Japan feel - bright wood everywhere and Buddhist theme was great! Made for a very relaxing stay. Important to know that this is not typical hotel with buffet style breakfast and the room had low bed almost on the floor, bathroom was cozy. Make sure you look at the photos and read the description to know what this is. Personally i loved everything about it. Was a great introduction to Osaka.

Lovely Buddhist Inn, Brilliant Staff
Wa-Qoo is a unique inn, situated in the historic area of Shitennoji Temple and associated with many activities connected with the Temple. If you know little of Japanese Buddhism and traditional culture, this could be an easy introduction for you. If you are more familiar, you might still enjoy it. The staff are all wonderfully welcoming and kind. My room was perfectly comfortable. If you have time in the morning, the Buddhist service at one the Shitennoji temples -- ours was at Aizen-do (I'm not sure if this is always the service site) -- is well worth the time. I had to rush to catch an air flight, but the vegan breakfast -- traditional Buddhist vegetarian cuisine -- was delicious. I did not have dinner the night before, but I wish I had. I highly recommend Wa-Qoo Shitaderamachi. You won't be disappointed.

Room was really nice good size for japan and super mix between western comfort and Japanese zen style. The location is a bit out of Namba but metro is 10 min walking. Good for universal 45 min / airport 60min. Staff super nice the only not nice thing is the phone call at 10.05 am to remind the super early checkout at 10 am. Usually in japan it is 11am (already early for westerner)

God værdi for pengene
Dejligt, traditionelt japansk værelse med behagelige senge. Pænt og rent. Der var meget varmt hvis ikke airconditionanlægget kørte og det var desværre ikke til at undgå at luften ramte den ene seng. Meget sødt og hjælpsomt personale i receptionen. Vi fravalgte den traditionelle japanske morgenmad. Beliggenhed tæt på Dotonbori, men ret fredeligt. Gåafstand til station hvorfra vi nemt kom til Nara.

デラックス ツインルーム (和洋室) 禁煙のお部屋に家族3人宿泊でしたので少し狭く感じましたが非常に快適でした。子供はまた泊まりたいと喜んでおりました。今回は大阪観光が目的でしたので立地最高でした。あと当日従業員の方より天神祭の奉納花火があると教えてもらい非常に参考になりました。
