The house was spotlessly clean and comfortable, and had all amenities - full kitchen, dining, iron, hair dryer. The house also had an in-house sauna in addition to a Panaroma sauna on the property. "Cruise ships were parked in front of hotel most of the time. So instead of seeing the fjords, you see a cruise ship. The ship left at 9pm but another was back at 630 am. Difficult to find where to check in. When asking employees where to check in they snapped “reception “ and were very annoyed I didn’t know where that was. There is no place to park when checking in. "Driving into Hjelle through the lakeside tunnel was magical. This repurposed schoolhouse was a fantastic place to experience old-world Norwegian living. Loved the nook beds and touches of history. The modern bath and kitchen were integrated well. The property manager was kind and helpful - he let us know when the early snowfall unexpectedly closed down the mountain pass. Was a great site to just relax and enjoy!"
