First time

First time staying in Norwich. It was a bit old. Blankets were stained, cigarette burns in it. Pot smell in the hallways. Clerk was VERY nice and friendly when we got in though which was after midnight! Have stayed at the Super 8 in Oneonta and that was is much nicer.

I guess you get what you pay for, staff was very nice and helpful when I needed help with TV, checking in and out. The place smelled horribly of weed, despite numerous postings of penalties for smoking around the premises There was no elevator and we were given a 3 rd floor room Carpets were old and dirty I can’t say enough good things about the staff, the place needs a renovation But for the price at was ok and we slept well

Very Basic

The positives were that it was quiet (my stay was on a Saturday night), the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the room temp was good. Check in and out and parking were all convenient. The only real negative was the 'breakfast' which was just coffee, juice, and granola bars. That was it. Yet, it advertises free breakfast included. So, beware.

Room cleaned every day. Immaculate. I needed an inexpensive place to stay as my trip came up as an emergency. Super 8 fit the bill. Clean, comfortable bed, quiet, restful. All I wanted was a place to sleep, shower, and change clothes. Also the in room refrigerator worked excellent. Froze what should be frozen. Kept cold what should be kept cold. And that's not always the case with these little refrigerators.

The check-in process was easy, and the hotel was located conveniently on a main road. The property itself was a bit shabby, though, and very basic. While it was generally clean, areas that don’t get much use (such as behind the desk, where we had to plug chargers in) were very dusty and looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. And there were few options for plugging in our chargers. A number of things were broken/missing: the plug for the sink, the vent for the hvac unit, and the towel hook in the bathroom. And the floors are bare (no carpet). The beds were comfortable and clean, as was the bathroom, so despite the issues, it’s decent enough to spend the night if you need to.

Front desk was nice. Lots of characters staying there thru DSS or else it would be better. They throw huge bags of trash in the hallway and the halls smell like dirty feet or a hookless shelter. The room was big and clean. I was shocked at this. Very cold though and I had to sleep with my jacket on as the heat doesn’t work very well and needs to be upgraded. Also breakfast is dismal: few applesauce, apple juice and some terrible coffee and small bottle of water splayed out by the front desk. I wouldn’t advertise it as breakfast. I’m sure the people who stay would take it so they put very little out. Def a live in hotel or else it would be nicer.

Clean room, fresh linens. Though the property is dated (bathroom fixtures from 80’s), it’s very clean. The hotel allows pets and there was a very energetic husky upstairs. It’s an older building with thin walls/floors so there was a lot of noise from our husky friend, but otherwise my stay was nice. Ice machine, refrigerator in room, microwave in room and lobby. Average water pressure. Cable-no options to stream on TV. Free wifi. Beds and pillows were ok. My door didn’t close automatically so make sure you check that when you leave. Great place to lay my head and take a shower for a night. I was pleasantly surprised. A burger/ice cream stand and farmer’s market is across the street. Fairly close to other restaurants and shopping. Nice staff. Will definitely stay again.
