"Unfortunately, we were there during refurbishing the main building, but our room was very clean, and updated. The staff was excellent and extremely helpful, friendly and professional. The morning breakfast was more elaborate than expected and the staff that prepared the food was wonderful. Food was always stocked, warm, and tasty. The entire area was super clean. Check in was easy and smooth. We were very pleased with the area, many food restaurants choices for every palate within walking distance. Beds were comfortable and bed linens were crisp, very clean, not worn. Rooms had no odors, and bathrooms were clean. We like the complimentary shampoo, body wash, body lotion containers that were full stocked. Towels were plentiful and clean. Plenty of parking that we felt was secure. We would highly recommend and would book again."

"If this review was about the staff, it would be 5 stars. About the material condition of the hotel, it would be 1 star. The staff is exceptional, but the hotel has more problems than they can contend with. The location is really good, the bedding is very comfortable, and parking is less expensive than downtown, and relatively safe. The 1st room they gave us had broken air conditioning, with no hope of an easy repair. The 2nd room was a smaller room, with a broken safe, a broken room phone, and a running toilet. The breakfast was really good. Typical hotel rates for a drink in the bar...you know...same cost for 2 shots as for the whole bottle at the ABC store... Would I stay here again? I dunno. Location wise, parking wise, best in town. But all the broken items (plus 2 of the 4 elevators were broken) really lowers your review, and no amount of compensation (and we got plenty of compensation) will completely fill that disparity. If I returned to Norfolk to go to the Scope Center I would probably stay again, but this time, with my eyes wide open..."

"The in-house restaurant, CapoCapo, has terrible table service. The wait staff do not want to be there. The food is decent. The parking garage is scary. The elevator is unreliable; avoid it. Pricing signs are unclear."

"Stay away from this property if you are traveling to Portsmouth. The property is filled with long-term residents with a cast of characters from skid row. Some folks were smoking pot under the staircase going to the second floor. Between 3:30-4:00 AM, concert volume rap filled with expletives was blasted through out the compound. Consequent irritability caused by Lack of sleep from the loud music must have been the reason the residents started arguing almost continuously outside our door from 7 AM. Not the type of drama we were looking for on our vacation! We gave our microwave perhaps its first cleaning ever. The shower curtains were covered in mildew and the bathroom door was broken."

"This place was disgusting. Rooms smelled, broken windows, the door on one of the 2 rooms we rented had been kicked in who knows how many times? There was a big gap in the door frame, and the door was in no way secure even with the deadbolt latched. Family members that were with us witnessed several drug deals being made in the parking lot at 6 o’clock in the evening in Broad daylight. This place was so bad we left demanded a refund and then had to scramble to try to find two other rooms at a different location, which was very stressful. There is absolutely no way I would recommend this hotel to anybody. My wife was ready to drive down the street and find a parking lot and sleep in our vehicle because she said she would feel more safe than being in this hotel. Absolutely not recommended. Would give less than a 1 star if possible. "

"The area is very sketchy in general. The building DOES NOT look like the pictures and the rooms definitely do not Room was nasty, floors were sticky and the bedding was dirty. The pillow was yellow! There was not even a microwave in the room and the toilet paper roll was used and in the floor. DO NOT GO HERE "

"The property was an excellent choice for our short stay prior to going on a cruise. The location was walkable to restaurants and convenience stores. It was in a safe location, which is very important to me. "
