Hotels in Old City, Istanbul

"I can't say enough good things about this hotel, and even moreso the staff. It is the sister property of Four G two doors up the street. It is fairly new property and staff are really eager to make your stay satisfactory-Mehmet, Jelal and Sevde were all incredible. I stayed here 2x during my week long stay in Istanbul, on my first 2 nights in Istanbul, and then on my last 3 nights in Istanbul. It is ideally located-10 minutes (or less if you walk fast) from Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Sofia Hagia and Basilica Cistern. Great restaurants & little shops nearby. If within your budget, get a room w/ a balcony sea view. Views are incredible, a great way to start the day with a morning tea or coffee. Also had balcony room on second stay with wonderful view of the Blue Mosque. Not as peaceful as room was facing the street, but very quiet (noise-proof windows). Rooms were clean and spacious (room with balcony facing see seemed slightly bigger). Traveling solo. There are lots of lodging choices in the area, and I'm sure other hotels are great, too, but if you are considering Four-G Premium, look no more. You can't go wrong with Four-G Premium Hotel. "Location for old historical sites, kindness of staffs, breakfast, providing hamam were so area. Room was clean but small than my expectations and a little bit bad odor in bathroom. Because of the staffs kindness, I may be back this hotel if I visit Istanbul again. No parking place was difficulf for the self driving guests. The road arounded hotel was heavy traffic for old city aera."

"Great location, friendly staff. Cleaning of the room was great, high standard and lovely cleaning lady. Breakfast choices limited for us personally. Mindful of the level of noise from outside traffic depending on the room. A/C was temperamental and had to keep the door open at night hence all the noise from outside being an issue. Would recommend staying if you want good clean room and perfect location."

"Hotel itself was mostly fine, but fell below expectations in the photos on Expedia. Our room was in the 'annexe', separate from the rest of the hotel, and with a corridor that opened onto the city street. This on several occasions was left unlocked which, along with the wonky lock on the door of our room itself, left us feeling at times insecure. The room itself was clean but dated with quirks such as an audio switchboard message welcoming us to the 'Dairyland Hotel' in Kerry each time we entered, and a TV remote that didn't work. The curtain hung off the wall at an angle. We had to ask someone to come and fix it to stop the light from flooding in. The main issue with the room however was the windows which were not sound insulated, and it was possible to hear every car and word spoken on the street below throughout the night. We were woken at 4am every morning by the call to prayer from a loudspeaker at the mosque across the street. This lasted for roughly five minutes at a volume that it was impossible to sleep through. Beyond issues with the room, the hotel itself was clean and professional enough. Use of the spa is a good perk. Breakfast was reasonable with a good range of breads, cheeses, fruit and cakes, but definitely without the variety seen at similar quality hotels in Central Europe or South East Asia. Not terrible, but far from the top-quality spa hotel of an international standard that the listing (and in our opinion, price) suggests."
