Brydone Hotel is in the historic Victorian section of Oamaru. It is within walking distance to the pier and boardwalk. Also within walking distance of shopping. They have a Happy Hour from 4:30-6:30pm. Very cozy restaurant with great coffee and breakfast.

Disappointing stay at this hotel. Our room, number 10, in the original building, was very small and had a dismal outlook. The car park is at the rear of the hotel, and to take luggage from our car meant a very long walk through multiple communal dining/conference/social areas. The hotel has a faded elegance, and we would not recommend this hotel.

We loved our stay in this Classic Hotel the rooms are super cool . Great staff. I only wish it was more than one night. Comfy bed. Great shower tons of pressure . Would stay again

Lovely character hotel with great staff.
Had a nice stay at this hotel. Oamaru is a great wee town and we’ll definitely come back as we didn’t allow enough time on the trip.

The Junior Suite was a great room and the bed was very comfortable. Had breakfast onsite downstairs and it was lovely with quick service. Would definitely stay again

Walked in to the lobby and was greated with a warm and friendly smile. Our room was fabulous with a big bed and everything we needed in an oversized room. Food was perfect with a great variety to choose from. All staff were extremely pleasant and nothing was a problem. If I had to critique anything at all would be signage and menu options for your international visitors from the Asian areas in their language. Spacious kingbed room. Very comfy bed and bathroom very well appointed. Classic vintage building loveingly restored. Breakfast staff amazing with yum food and the best coffee! Lounge room out of this world with old world charm all decked out with Christmas decorations. Will definitely go back again :)

The property is vintage and you get the feel of being like the 18th century or early 1900s. I like history and that vibe in that hotel made me wonder. The place is near shopping stores so it’s a great location to be.

I was in the old part of the building, which is quite dated. The room was old but spacious with a new and great bathroom. Quite a long walk from the carpark to my room. Leighton on Reception was really pleasant and cooperative. I will certainly stay there again.

We had an old room. Bit tired. Noise from room/s next door was loud during night. Function room smoking area was right below window. Therefore was overpriced for what you got .. especially in Oamaru.

It was very noisy and room was above a sports bar, plus guests were very noisy at night and in the morning. Lack of sleep due to the noise will not be going again and would not recommend if I could get our money would be good but I can not see that happening thanks for your inquiry Steve Joy

Sorry your stay was unsatisfactory. The nights you stayed were very busy nights in the hotel, with lots of groups, the weekends, can be a bit noisier than usual, especially if we have a full hotel, which makes the hotel noisy.

Good hotel
Great location for walking everywhere. Warm room, good shower pressure, clean room. Only complaint was when at weekend there were loud music from the bar with music that can be heard from our room. Could also hear people chatting outside the room but overall it suits our purposes.
