Beautiful, charming, cosy hotel right in the centre of Oakham. My room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the service at breakfast was exceptional. All staff very friendly and helpful.
Good hotel just stayed one night food in the restaurant was
good and better than the usual pub fayre
Good value, only one fault was the shower in the room wasn't very good, poor water pressure and not very controllable either red hot or cold.
Amazing hotel. The decor is beautiful and all staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. Nice to hear 'sir' and 'madam'. I thought that kind of politeness had been lost, seems not. The breakfast was the best weve ever had. All staff seemed very hapoy in their work. Lovely to hear jolly voices, even behind the scenes. Furnishings lavish, eventhough we paud a very reasonable price. Perfect location, right in heart of Oakham. All in all, couldn't falt. Even our dog was treated to a special breakfast treat. My husband was very pleased with the ample parking. A very memorable stay which made our little walking holiday feel very, very special. Well done to the owners.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Staff are always helpful and welcoming but there could be small improvements like having a mirror when you dry your hair and maintenance is required to make it fresher in the rooms. It is a lovely old building but could improve the noisy stairs and sound proofing (two ensuites are butted together)

Would stay again.
Lovely stay at the Brook Whippet hotel. Full of charm and character. Little outdated but its an old building. Staff were amazing, Tom especially, worked so hard pretty much running the place single handedly.
It was great. Easy check-in, clean room, nice staff, good choice for perfectly cooked breakfast. The hotel itself was full of character. I wish their toaster was a bit more powerful though 😉

Pleasant stay
Pleasant stay in an old hotel. All very clean but what you expect in an old building, squeaky floorboards and things on a tilt. Only criticism was the shower, took an age to get hot and then scalding, couldn’t regulate the temperature at all. Breakfast ok, could have done with being a bit hotter but not a major. Location superb.
Me and my partner had a great stay over in Oakham. Manoj (Apologies if I’ve misspelt your name) and Paul were most welcoming and fantastic hosts. The hotel is basic, clean and in a great location on the high street. For the price I could not fault the Whipper Inn.
The hotel was very scruffy. Our room The Grafton, was the most drab, depressing , scruffiest, place I've ever slept in. The carpets throughout the hotel were either dirty or badly stained. In some areas they had even replaced patches with another carpet entirely. The service was lack lustre. And the food 2nd rate. Didn't get our free breakfast as we were told by hotel's.com. they said it was wrong and we would have to pay. We didn't bother. Don't know if we were given the worst room because it was our free night, or if all the rooms were this bad. Probably the later.
This is the third visit to the Whipper-Inn, the large rooms are cavernous, arm chairs giving that almost ‘home living room’ feel.
A most enjoyable stay, I shall return.
