Freezing
Our stay was ok, beds comfy and hotel room quiet. However, the hotel was freezing cold throughout. Our room was stone cold and we had to keep the heating on all night. The heated towel rail in the bathroom didnt work and we werent able to get any hot water in the sink. The bathroom light was linked to an extractor fan which was reduculously noisy and stated on for ages after use. We didnt bother with a shower we just wanted to get in the car to warm up. Breakfast was nice.

Lovely approach, setting and building. Lovely and clean , bed comfortable . Unfortunately couldn’t comment on the restaurant as not open evening or morning as no chef available, although an offer was given to deliver drinks to the room if required . No heating in the bathroom .

Worst Hotel Experience EVER!
Worst place I’ve ever been too. Booked a Family room for 2 adults and 2 children. Reception gentleman started to tell us that we had to pay a laundry charge for the kids bunk bed - £15 for each bed (£30 in total). Then another £15 for the dog (fair enough) but this was not clear either. I went and complained to the lady at the bar and another gentleman turned up who looked like the chef (believe it was the owner). Rude. He tried to argue the charges but I wasn’t having it until he threw a tantrum and flipped the laptop at his employee and said “take it off the bill I can’t be arsed” and stormed off. Tried to claim Premier Inn do the same LOL. We originally intended to have dinner, drinks and breakfast at the Hotel but considering he appears to be the chef I no longer had trust he wouldn’t do something to our food. I was also concerned about my car. Ruined our evening. Reception gentleman told us it was the owners partners birthday also… the music didn’t stop until 2am. Says it all!

The whole property needs a complete overhaul. It is very tired and could be a beautiful hotel with some repairs and modernisation. It is in a lovely setting but the grounds are overgrown and uncared for. A very small staff, and no one on reception on arrival, had to call someone from the kitchen to check in! The meals were adequate but not very high standard, I found a hair in my mushrooms. I think the 3 star rating needs investigation, it really is not worth 1star!!

Obviously a huge refurbishing project
The first impression was so disappointing. The reception was unoccupied gloomy and dark,and m we had to roam hotel to find somebody through lenghty soulless meandering corridors. We reached our allocated room, strong odour of bleach , it was clean and modernised Needed a drink, visited the bar , little or no atmosphere, the 2 girls serving were really nice, but there was an uneasy atmosphere. Understand its a huge project in progress , but felt really uncomfortsble. Fortunately our orginal choice called out of the blue with a cancellation, so as we had fully paid up in advance we therefore cancelled our booking moved out and had paid for a room we didnt use

The room was clesn and comfortable, housekeeping staff were very helpful especially helpful with my wife who was a bit off colour. The general quslity of catering was better than our last. Our last day breakfadt was goid however consistency needs to be maintained. Front of house staff work very hard, especially Nial, & Jenny. As a former auditor i would suggest a visit by a snag fixer and this place would be cracking. Small changes, massive differences.

A good value for money Hotel, slightly dated, but room was large and bed very comfortable. So for the money was a very good option. Breakfast was good with good options, and reasonable value, staff in the restaurant were very good. On the negative side the bar was closed, and the only time we saw anybody on reception was when we checked in.

Picturesque Tudor style hotel and restaurant in rural setting was idyllic. The interior is being upgraded, with modern bathrooms. There were high quality and large servings in the restaurant. Pleasant staff rounded out the experience. We will be back!

Nice stay
Overall we had a good stay. Our room was nice although the bathroom door lock was broken. It was also quite hot in the room as there is no aircon but the staff did bring two fans in for us. The decor is a little dated but quite charming. The breakfast was really tasty and there was a good selection.

Upon check in booked a a family room. 2 adults and 2 children.. the hotel insisted in paying £25 extra for linen. Extra bed apparently even though booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 kids. We got a bunk bed for the kids and double bed. Hotel refused refund. Robbed us of £25 . Discusting!!! Shame on you! Will not be staying here again. Spoilt the overall stay

Not our first visit, speaks for it's self. Staff very helpful, bed super comfortable, room a good size our only niggle was that the towel rail wasn't working so there was no heating in the bathroom, not a biggie. Beautiful location. Place is like a sleeping giant.

High expectations but left disappointed
After reading fairly good reviews we were looking forward to our family weekend. Unfortunately our experience was pretty disappointing. The welcome was positive and the room was OK. However, the heating didn’t work and the rooms had nowhere to hang any coats or clothes. One of the mattresses had wire sticking through and the cleanliness of the shower heads left something to be desired. We did have dinner on the first night but that too was quite disappointing. We were expecting a country pub type of meal but it was more Wetherspoons. After we decided against breakfast the staff were considerably less welcoming and even borderline rude. Lovely grounds and great potential but dated and tired.

Unique property with lots of beams and a cosy feel. Staff couldn't have been nicer and more welcoming. The only problem was the guests watching loud tv until 4am...walls are very thin

We stayed 1 night in December 2022. The building is beautiful, the staff friendly and accommodating, room was clean and nicely furnished, bed was super comfortable warm open fires in the restaurant and the food was excellent. I will stay again and recommend.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my 2 daughter’s up seeing family, for a birthday celebration, I was only 10 minute’s drive away, location was great, the room fantastic, very clean, I have stayed in many place’s in Norfolk, oh my the bed’s I can say was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in while being away, I would definitely recommend the white Pheasant, will definitely return

62 years Wedding Anniversary weekend away
The staff were friendly but they seemed understaffed. We struggled to get into the building as we had requested a ground floor room and had problems unlocking the outside door. We had to go into the bar to find someone to unlock it. Luckily the weather was fine or we would have got very wet.

An excellent night stay
Have stayed here on a number of occasions. All staff are friendly and welcoming. We had an upstairs bedroom that was very comfortable with a heater so that we could regulate the room temperature to our liking. The room had beem refurbished/redecorated this year and i understand that it is planned to redecorate all the downstairs rooms this winter. The bedroom, ensuite bathroom and everywhere in the hotel was clean and neat. Hand sanitizer pots are situated at the entrances. The restaurant provides excellent, tasty meals with large portions
