"We stayed at the Westin Club adult-only area, which is definitely worth the upgrade. The family pool was loud. The adult-only pool was quieter and the swim-up bar was great with tasty pina coladas and margaritas. Coffee and cocktails across campus tasted watered down. Faisanella restaurant is exclusive to the adult-only area for breakfast and lunch, so it was nice to have a quieter option there. The rooms were beautiful and cool even on the hottest days. The beds were so comfortable. It was awesome to see so many animals (monkeys, iguanas, coatis, etc.). The staff was really sweet and helpful. They offered rides across campus and gave tips on experiences. We booked ziplining and Cloud Forest through Xplora which was pricey but great. If you’re ziplining, spring for the far away courses like Monteverde (3-4 hours away one way, but so much greener, higher, faster). The food was pretty good, like Mitra for breakfast buffet, Bamboo or Spirula for reservation-only dinner (you have to book at 8 a.m. day-of), Cauri for tapas with a sunset view. The beach near the resort is small and shell-y and has a couple vendors. Walk past the rocks to the right, and over the trail to the long stretch of beach. Much better view. Sunscreen is $50 at the market and $35 at the main desk. We booked a private airport ride via nexus tours which wasn’t great, but that’s not the hotel’s fault. It would be cool if the hotel shuttle ran at multiple times. Overall really happy we stayed here!"

"Everything was very clean, the staff were accommodating, and it isn't overrun by guests even though it's busy. There is comfortable space without feeling crowded, which is great when you want to relax. The entertainment team was terrific; we enjoyed meeting and getting to know a lot of them. They all work hard there to make sure your stay is enjoyable. I would highly recommend this resort for those looking for something a little more secluded, with relaxation being the main reason. It is not one of those huge all-inclusive resorts where it takes you forever to get from one end to another and has a bazillion activities. Look elsewhere for that."

"The Palace is outdated, the decor of the rooms and the lobby is awful. Renovation is scheduled for August. The grounds are well maintained, pool area clean and the restaurants are kept clean. The workers are all very friendly and there to make the guests very comfortable. Servers and bartenders are helpful and nice. Entertainment staff is great, energetic and fun. We did a river cruise, which was fun. We saw a lot of alligators and monkeys, although we saw more monkeys next to the hotel. Take a stroll to the left on the beach to where the sign for the Monkey bar is. Walk into the jungle, there are a lot of white faced monkeys there. We wanted to go snorkeling, they try to sell you the catamaran cruise, includes alcohol and fruit, but who needs that when you're staying at an all inclusive? We ended up on a 3 hour snorkeling tour, but visibility was bad. Overall, the hotel is comfortable, the food incredible and lots of fun for no longer than a week."

"The pools were nice and not overly crowded, most staff were decent, although they were severely understaffed which I think caused some of them to be rude. The towels in the room were old and had a smell to them, the toilet always smelled like the gasket wasn’t installed properly or something. I’d rate the food quality maybe at like a 2-3 and availability pretty low they ran out of stuff kind of often. The restaurants were also just buffets and not that great. A lot of the food wasn’t labelled at all so if you have allergies it’s hard to tell if you can eat some of it. Lastly everyone on our trip got sick either on the second last day or the last day and a few are still sick at the time of writing this 5 days after leaving. All in all go somewhere else. "

"Desde momento que llegamos tuvimos un trato muy diferente en comparación con los extranjeros, en la recepción un trato tosco y poco informativos, en el restaurante demasiado tiempo espera para ser atendidos y las bebidas nunca llegaron algunos de los saloneros nos ignoraban como sino nos vieran, no había agua embotellada para los nacionales, el control televisor no funcionaba tratamos reportarlo a la recepción donde normalmente se reporta y el teléfono tampoco funcionaba cuando fuimos nos indicaron que no era con ellos sino con el área administrativa hacia donde nos dirigimos y nunca atendieron la solicitud."
