"Le Matisse, que je fréquente pour la 2è année consécutive est un petit hôtel calme dans une rue peu fréquentée à 2 pas du centre de Pau. La chambre est simple mais confortable et fonctionnelle. La propreté des locaux irréprochable. Seul bémol, les chambres ne sont pas, à ce jour, climatisées. Avec les épisodes de canicule qui s'acroissent, les ventilateurs fournis (par ailleurs efficaces) ne sont pas suffisants. Il faut espérer que l'établissement saura évoluer. "We stopped for one night on an evening when the restaurant was closed. We were made very welcome (there are 4 rooms only and we were the only guests). The hostess cooked us a lovely three course dinner ( though menu was limited) and in the morning we has a lovely continental breakfast. Simple fair but plentiful. Off the besten track and typical local French"

"Don't bother to book if you can not speak French. You must also ring to confirm or they will NOT let you in as there is no reception. There are also no refunds a very bad service. I can not rate the rest of the hotel as never saw it."
