Single worst hotel experience ever!
Worst hotel experience ever! My wife and I were traveling by bicycle and the hotel assured us that a parking garage nearby would accept the bikes. This was not the case and the "front desk" staff would do absolutely nothing to assist us. We had no choice but to leave and seek accommodation elsewhere. We ended up staying nearby at the OKKO hotel which was fantastic. I will avoid Mercure Hotels in the future.

During our discussions last August, we told you that we do not have a bicycle garage and we sent you the contact details of the website of the nearest car park. Bathroom needs to be repainted and deeply cleaned. There was mold in the shower and on the ceiling. Not what you’d expect from a 4 star hotel.

The central location of the hotel is within walking distance of almost everything. The staff was helpful and gave great recommendations for meals. Our room was clean and comfortable. Finding the hotel by car was quite difficult if not impossible because it's located in an area open to pedestrian traffic. We were able to park in a lot close by and walk our luggage in.

Mercure Passage Pommeraye
Helpful staff, beautiful decor and very comfy bed. Nuxe shower gel and hand soap was a nice touch. The location was excellent, within a 5 minute radius of a huge selection of shops, restaurants, creperies, cafes and bars. Our Standard room was smaller than we expected though. It didn’t have any drawer space and the selection of teas and coffees could have been better (e.g. make sure there are 2 sachets of non-decaf coffee!).

Great downtown hotel
Superb location if you are looking for a downtown stay and a walk-to- anywhere location. Rooms are small but tastefully appointed and up-to-date, reception staff very nice and always on hand. Very comfortable bed and nice to have large doors opening onto a pedestrian street (very little traffic noise). I opted out of breakfast with so many other places around.

Loved the location, the room was very nice and the staff very friendly. The bed was comfy, the only negative was the quality of the sheets / mattress topper, that made us feel a bit uncomfortable at night.

Pleasantly surprised
Turned out to be better than I expected. The room was lovely and had a balcony over-looking a quiet side street. Comfortable bed, decent bathroom and decent storage for clothes. Location was very handy for shops, trams, buses.

Exceptional Value and Location in Nantes
Location is perfect for an overnight in Nantes. The staff was extremely accueillant and the breakfast was more than enough. Room was plenty large for a couple and the shower pressure was extraordinary. My family had stayed here years ago and they loved it. I was happy to experience it for myself.

The hotel is in a great location. But I paid for a superior room and I fail to see how that room was superior. It had no view. Seemed basic and no shampoo erg The carpets in the corridors were dirty and there is a sign in reception sating 'suck my heart". What on earth is s sign like that doing there.

The fine old city of Nantes
This small hotel has a great location in the heart of the old city. Pedestrianised area, so if coming by car, need to find a nearby car park. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Inexpensive and great value hotel.

Hotel in the centre of town
The staff were all very helpful & friendly. A safe would have been useful. Weather extremely hot & a fan had been put in our room. Very thoughtful. It was veey noisy in the street during the night with shouting & screaming. That isn't the hotel's fault but it was difficult to sleep.

Suggest you take one of the better rooms. You'll have space, enormous windows and a view overlooking the street. And a bathroom with double French windows! And an actual shower instead of one of those bathtubs the depth of rendering vats. With that comes a bit on noise, you'll have to close those enormous windows. The room was comfortable in May but there's no aircon and summer (July, August) may be challenging. Brilliant location, more restaurants and bars than you could eat at. Fabulous English speaking staff. Dreadful tiny dining room. Literally, a sardine can. Great breakfast though.

Nice Hotel with great location.
Nice Hotel within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. It is a 5 min. walk tp Airport bus. Breakfast was very good.

Centrally located friendly hotel
Having missed my outbound flight I hd to change my booking. On arrival the receptionist said she was sorry about the missed flight and that I'd be spending 2 nights rather than 3, which was thoughtful of her. I got the quiet upstairs room I'd asked for. I slept soundly and the copious breakfast buffet was good value at around £10, though the room is small and guests have to sit close together. Reception were helpful at showing places on the map and recommending local restaurants. Check out at 12 noon was later than most hotels I've stayed in.

smart quirky hotel
Smart hotel in a pedestrian area so had to park at a nearby garage....and carry our bags... but we expected that. Unfortunately it kept raining when we wanted to check out!!! Rooms were comfortable - very quiet as no traffic. Breakfast seemed very expensive so we found a boulangerie nearby for a coffee,. Generally a nice hotel

The room looked clean although dmall black flies. Didnt realise it is oet friendly and although didnt see any pets we got flea bites. It took a while to wirk out what the bites were from. Staff very helpful and friendly.

There were mosquitos in this season between warm weather and rainy weather, but no fleas! We have a specific treatment in all our rooms. how strange! to the pleasure of receiving you without insects

Good central location. Easy walk to Place Graslin where la Cigale restaurant is located. Very old with beautiful tiled interior and excellent food . Bit expensive though. Comfortable room with walk in shower .

The Hotel Pommeraye is ideally placed in the centre near to Place Royale and Commerce. The hotel room was perfect - lovely and clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

Highly Recommended.
The staff of the hotel did provide us with incredible service in assisting us to file a police report due to an unfortunate incident happened near the hotel while we stopped the car to ask for direction to go inside the pedestrian zone where the hotel is located. Our most valuable travel bag was stolen out of the backseat of our car within minutes of parking the car unlocked! We wish it was a more memorable stay as we did not get much sleep as the wifi on the 4th level was very weak until after midnight. Most rooms in the hotel are undergoing full renovation and the superior room was ver large with a new bath. Great location in Nantes but we did not get the tour the city due to the incident.

My wife and I chose the Pommeraye based on a personal recommendation and were not disappointed. Not only is the location perfect, the staff was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. The only drawback with the room was the lack of a shower curtain. Otherwise I would have given it a perfect score. Everything in the historic center is within walking distance, and restaurants and bars are in abundance. Please note that Nantes is the perfect base for exploring other towns in the Loire valley and Brittany by train.

Good location, but in need of improvements
This staff here was super friendly and helpful and the location truly can't be beat. However, the wifi was spotty at best, the shower sprayed all over the floor, the faucet leaked all over the counter top and the bathroom reeked of cigarette smoke. Check to see if they have any recently renovated rooms, otherwise expect subpar conditions for the price.
