07-09-25 I booked this thru hotels.com. The B&B was closed with a for sale sign on the property. Phone number was out of service. Property has been on the market for over two months.

This listing is fake. The property is no longer a B&B. I spoke with the family and they believe someone has created this listing as a scam.

When we arrived at the B&B we were greeted by a realtor who informed us the owner had passed away about a month prior and that guests with reservations were to have been notified. We were not notified however and had to scramble to find alternate accommodations. If you have an upcoming reservation for this B&B please make alternate arrangements. Hotels.com, please inform your customers and remove this location from your site. As I write this I can still see that B&B coming up in search.

The B&B dated back to the 1700’s but had modern day amenities. The inn and grounds were breathtaking. The staff and breakfast was wonderful. I can’t wait to go back, this is one of my favorite bookings ever.

wonderful getaway

The host/owner was wonderful and accommodating. She asked us before hand what we would like for breakfast the next day. The place was lovely and felt like we were in a museum. It was full of charm, uniqueness and warmth.

Highly recommend the Heavitree B&B!

Beautiful location, excellent and attentive service, and very comfortable and clean rooms! Really loved the outdoor patio as well. Breakfast of eggs Benedict and French toast was delicious.

Hostess was warm and welcoming. House is beautifully appointed. The quantity and quality of the antiques is impressive and fascinating. I've stayed in many dozens of architecturally significant B&B's and this is the finest. Breakfast was delicious. Advice: bring a book light if you like to read in bed.

The only thing that was annoying was the wedding reception going on. When you’ve traveled a distance and just want to rest, loud music doesn’t help. Otherwise a beautiful place and tree farm. The hostess was really nice

Wonderful 18th Century B&B

An excellent stay, this unique Heavitree of Griswold B&B was featured in the December 2008 issue of Early American Life magazine. An original 18th century structure set on a 140+ acre Christmas tree farm, that once served as a tavern, home, and now a B&B. Walk through the door and you are teleported back in time, as the rooms, parlor, dining room, keeping room, great room, etc., are all from the 18th century period. Outside the B&B, the grounds include vast fields, gardens, beautiful views, and a comfortable outdoor patio. Each morning, the full breakfast was enormous and delicious. The owner, whose family has lived on this property since the 1600’s was amazing and so very nice to talk to. The property manager was also incredible and very knowledgeable of the area. If you love Old Sturbridge Village, CT, and wonder what it would be like to stay in an 18th century home of that period, then this is the B&B for you!
