1. Villaggio della Salute Più

Monterenzio

"Wonderful location in the hills outside Bologna. Fantastic thermal spa pools. Nice food and great staff (reception speak english). The room was basic and definitely overpriced. 2 stars at best Euro 65 per night should be the price, in my experienced opinion. Noisy and drafty accommodation. Conversations in the corridors and stairwells echoed around the whole building. Smokers' cigarette smoke somehow drifted into my room. WiFi was non-existent. In summary, bad hotel for business travellers....

5. Agriturismo Ca' Nuova

Minerbio

"Truly a beautiful and old world look agriturismo. Felt like we were in an antique villa. Large room and excellent service. The owner is very nice and professional. Breakfast is home made, fresh, abundant and soooo good!!! 5 stars hotel except this little village outside of Bologna is nothing special. But the agriturismo is great and with great ambiance if you want to stay outside Bologna and take field trips from this location. Same hotel in Tuscany would be double the price."

7. Agriturismo La Topaia

Borgo San Lorenzo

"Posto gradevole immerso nella natura, silenzioso e tranquillo .. a parte il condizionatore che era rumorosissimo e ha rovinato la quiete del luogo e reso meno piacevole il nostro soggiorno. Piscina pulita, colazione ok, stanza grande e confortevole. Suggerirei di cambiare il condizionatore che era davvero rumorosissimo se portato ad una temperatura inferiore ai 27 gradi … e di provvedere ad un filo fuori dalla finestra per appendere i costumi bagnati .. Top Monterenzio Hotel Reviews

Hotel Metropolitan

10/10 Excellent

"Our stay at the Metropolitan Hotel in Bologna was excellent! Early check-in was happily accommodated, and the staff were very helpful in storing our luggage for our late flight departure. The rooftop terrace was fantastic and a perfect place to relax. Service was outstanding from check-in through breakfast and throughout our stay. A wonderful experience overall,"

Hotel Palace Bologna Centro

8/10 Good

"Very good location, Very good breakfast.. Clean Classic Double bedroom with good bedroom and bathroom facilities and linen but bathroom problem (see further). Helpful and hardworking staff, particularly very efficient and friendly breakfast ladies, chamber maids and Reception staff. However: my bathroom (Room 101) smelled badly of bad drains. I was told it happened when it rained - though there had been no rain. I was given a spray to help but the smell returned every day. Also there was a terrible smell on the 1st floor which apparently was ongoing. So, the hotel needs to deal with what seems like embedded problems on the 1st floor. I don’t know if other floors or bedrooms have the same problems. Also hotel is run down in several areas with stained and very worn carpets on the stairs and in my bedroom, and dingy/gloomy staircase whose walls need to be painted. The owners need to spend some money on the hotel and not just rely on good staff and occupancy"

Starhotels Excelsior

10/10 Excellent

"Hotel was ideally situated across from the railways station. Easy to get into the centre of Bologna either by walking or hop on bus outside hotel. Room was large and clean and everything managed well. Plenty of choice at breakfast. We would certainly stay here again and would recommend to others."
