Nice Hotel

It was quite interesting stay for us as a family. However, the floor was very dirty and practically we had to use sandals or otherwise your feet will be dirty. Also, the weather was too hot and no air conditioning was provided. Despite of that, we still had fun and the hotel was very nice to allow us to park our car so we can freely explore the city which allow me to provide another positive comment, nice location!

Vi manglede air condition

Centralt beliggende hotel lige i hjertet af Montalcino. Et stort minus at der ikke var aircondition eller i det mindste en bordventillator. Størrelsen på lejligheden var perfekt til en familie på 4 (2 voksne + 2 drenge påhviler 10 og 11 år). Damen i receptionen kunne godt have været mere imødekommende.

Hänförande utsikt från pentrysvit med bra läge

Bokade ett rum för fem personer, som visade sig vara en mindre svit! En semesterlägenhet med tre separata rum med bekväma dubbelsängar och ett fullt utrustat pentry, vilket var mycket praktiskt för oss som familj. Sviten hade en av de mest hänförande utsikterna mot de toskanska vidderna som går att tänka sig, där man kunde se såväl magiska soluppgångar som solens nedgång med vidöppet fönster utan den minsta insyn. Fantastiskt "room with a view"! Rummet mot gatan var exponerat för en hel del gatuljud, så här kan öronproppar vara en bra idé. Ingen luftkonditionering. Stort plus för p-platsen som ingick, stan är annars hopplös att parkera i, det krävs dock viss iskyla för att lotsa in bilen på denna gratis parkering, bilen måste köras genom en trång gränd och därefter in på en gård, detta är omöjligt med en större bil. Frukostbuffé som var helt ok, med toast, youghurt, ägg croissanter, färsk frukt och espressokaffe. Mycket avslappnad och vänlig personal. Läget var fantastiskt, men räkna med en del störande ljud från trafik, samt från slammer med grannlägenhetens dörrlås, lite lyhört mellan rummen på samma plan.

Excellent choice!

This hotel is an excellent choice for exploring Tuscany. The accommodations were perfect for my family. Spacious rooms, well equipped kitchen, lovely decor, and spectacular views from every window. It has a parking lot in the back, a big plus. The restaurant serves a nice continental breakfast with a beautiful fresh torta . Eat indoors on on the pretty patio. The place has more of a B&B feel and is very comfortable and clean. Massages available, although we didn't take advantage. Laundromat right next door. Service was adequate, no room service or housekeeping but that wasn't important to us. Be sure to check in before the restaurant closes and be sure you have GPS navigation to find Montalcino. We did not, got lost, arrived late (1am) and spent the first night in our car. I called for directions but at the late hour and not being able to provide my exact location, they could not provide help. In the end I was responsible for the charge, which I do understand, just unfortunate. Even though, we give it a two thumbs up and will book again next time we are in Italy.

This hotel was beautiful with wood floors and a wood beamed ceiling. It was in the heart of tiny Montalcino and had stunning views of the valley below. There was plenty of room for the whole family to sleep comfortably. Our only complaints were 1)they said there was free WiFi but we didn't get any connection in our room so we had to go into the lobby to use our computer; and 2)the refrigerator had mildew in it (ew) and there were half used shampoo bottles left in the shower.

Close to center of Mantalcino, small cars only!

Please read the whole review, because the owner did all she could to address our issues. Our first room had been closed up and smelled like cats had been living there and musty. It was a basement room in the rear of the building that opened onto a patio. My wife and I left the windows open and went out for a while but came back and found no improvement. When we complained we were given a room on the second floor street side that was fine: a double bed for us and a sofa couch for my brother and his girlfriend, who had a similar problem in their basement level room. In the end, everything worked out, but the first rooms should have been clean and ready!
