There was not enough workers. If you need something you have to ask like at least 5-6 times until you get it. We were waiting for an iron for almost 2 hours. Very long waits for orders and every time you ask for help or something, the staff disappears. I would recommend staying somewhere else.

We checked out 3 days early than planned, because of the unpleasant conditions. The standards of this hotel would not be acceptable to most holiday makers. There were a calamity of things that would never allow me to recommend this hotel! Firstly, I will never forget the mildew-damp smell that greeted me on entering the suite we had booked. They provide mosquito nets over beds, which is good, but they were torn or stained, on more than one bed. Pull back the pillow cases and our pillows revealed grey mould patches, so filthy, that we inevitably chose to sleep without them. I had curtains hanging off their hooks and worse still, the patio doors leading to outside were warped and did not lock properly -as a female with a young family this was a huge concern. The bathroom featured rusting taps with peeling chrome surface, that looked like it was diseased. Then, there was the shower that did not drain properly resulting in pools of sitting water. Even though I was moved to another room, the alternative was not any better: The unclean extractor fan had dead mosquitos plastered all over it, like an insect graveyard. Towel rails were rusty. Poorly fitted plug sockets on walls and handles missing off a sliding door. In the restaurant, the staff did not care about flies landing on food they were about to serve guests, or the frequent roaming cat that jumped on tables! The only positive it gets, is down to its scenic view. My biggest regret is the money I wasted on booking this place!

This hotel is not fit for purpose. They advertise a package that they simply do not have. Where do I start. Firstly they hook you in with a wonderful looking hotel accommodation. We basically paid for something we did not receive. Our first day Saturday 28th October until we.left on the Tuesday having booked until 4Nov was a nightmare from hell. My first Premier Deluxe room was a ground floor room with mould around the handbasin and shower and damp walls. Toilet seat cracked and no space to swing a cat and the water did not drain from handbasin and I would not have put a dead animal in the fridge. The presence of mosquitoes wax overwhelming and given Mombasa was a red zone that clearly was cause for concer with no nets on the patio doors. The condition of the room was disgusting I was moved to another room on the first floor. Whilst the bathroom was in a better condition k again couldn’t touch the fridge. The nets on the bed was disgusting with presence of s myriad of dead creatures. The pillows were all so soiled I can’t imagine why and how they would expected a guest to lay their head. Also had bed bugs. The breakfast was a farce and it was survival of the fittest the flies or us. It gets worse but I have limited characters. Shame on you Expedia for selling something not fit for purpose and taking our money.

A great place to stay. The old charm of one of Nyali’s oldest hotels, but being updated by the new owners. Food and service was great. The shower and bathroom was fine. Our room was lovely and spacious. The fridge didn’t work but was replaced immediately. Location is good being on the beach, but close to all the amenities that Links Road and Nyali can offer.

It seems that the hotel was great 20 years+ ago. There is a clearly visible lack in Renovating/Modernizing. The bathrooms for instance are just terrible. The property is changing brands and was under construction. The wing I stayed had a magnificent beach view with a clean bed. The grounds are amazing! They were painting and cleaning up but that didn't bother me at all.

This property has some serious problems with its utilities specifically water supply and water quality. The senior management are clueless as to how to resolve this and in our case they failed to respond directly to any of our complaints. Bathrooms and fixtures are of poor quality and in bad condition. The issues we had can be summarised as follows: 1. Water stoppages lasting more than 3 hours on 5 out of our 11 days stay. 2. Poorly treated water supply from borehole. 3. Bathroom window did not shut properly leaving a path for mosquitoes. 4. Lack of consistent hot water 5. Taps not working properly 6. Toilet cistern broke down but got repaired 7. Internet breakdown for more than 12 hours. 8. The staff were polite and apologetic but powerless to resolve any problems - appears to be a management issue.

Beware! Sewer leak in bedroom and terrible customer service! The food will make you sick, the customer service will make you sicker. We got a room for the holidays and had a nasty sewer leak that almost destroyed our property. My girlfriend was in the shower and human poop and water came out of the shower drain and flooded our whole room. Did they offer us another room? Nope! Did they offer us a refund? Nope! All they did was mop the floor and make us remain in our sewer infested room for the duration of the trip. Any other respectable hotel would've at least offered another room and a refund. On top of that, customer service is very dubious, apathetic, slow, and inconsiderate. Think hard anf think twice before booking a trip here. I never make internet reviews, I'm not that type of person, even if something bothers me, but this place needs to be called out.

We were so disappointed with the cost for what you got. The hotel is old and run down. Our room had furniture that was rotting and although we paid for the deluxe room with a sea view we got a small average room and we couldn't see the sea. The only thing that was fine about the room was the airconditioner worked well.

DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE. HAZARD TO HEATH AND FAKE PICTURES USED ON ADVERT. The place is old, filthy, infested and there service is rubbish. Toilet full of limescale, there is excriment on switches in the room and explained stains everywhere Expedia should be ashamed of themself that they are selling this dive to there customers to stay in. The place is not a 1 star hotel let alone a 3.5* I want a full refund and will be doing a chargeback if a full refund is not provided. Will also be writing to the ombudsman if my complaint is not dealt with within 15 days.

Lots of potential but fell a bit short
Pros: - Beautiful facility that looks newly renovated - Lovely, kind staff - Great location right on the beach - Good amount of security Cons: - Need more people so more things are open (a couple restaurants and bars were closed and/or under renovation) - Food wasn't good. Had the worst pina colada and Indian food of my life. Pasta was good though. - Bathroom in hotel room has screens to outdoor hallway so anybody outside the room could hear everything going on inside the bathroom, and I could hear every person that passed by the room. SO worth it!
I was a little anxious about this hotel based on many of the reviews but was so glad I still chose to stay there. The entire service staff, from reception, to wait staff, to room cleaners were exceptional. The lobby immediately gave me a good impression and I loved my room. I’m told they are under new management and clearly it’s working really well. I picked a room facing seaside so maybe that was the difference but it was renovated, comfortable, and clean. The pools and grounds are beautiful and while I didn’t use the fitness center, I walked through it. It has way more equipment than most hotel fitness centers and once again, the people were friendly and welcoming. The beach can get crowded but it’s still good for walking and sitting/people watching. I didn’t swim in the sea but there were a lot of people in the water. I will add that I am a 63 year old solo traveler and have been to a whole lot of places. This place impressed me. Give it a shot. It’s worth it.

The sea and ground area was nice. Had some issues on transport from airport to location Room was stale air, non clean bath tub, bug netting not good, bug and mosquitoes issues, dirty floor, room had odor. Staff helpful getting to room The there are several restaurants some had several hours left to be open and were not engaged for service and recommended eating in the main area and many items not available. Took over 1 hour to get a plate of pasta and was not great. Staff advised they were short on help. Again the description of the place and services did not match. Except the AC worked I was in the region over 20 years ago and perhaps the place was grand and need up dating. We were looking to host an event for several 100 persons. Place does not meet our standards will consider other options

The hotel is serene, with an amazing view, it has a lot of beautiful vegetation surrounding it. A walk by the beach is recommended. However, the facilities are a bit outdated, the toilet had issues flushing, the room key had a problem and it was a struggle opening my door and some amenities were quite old. The service was good and the hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming.
