Liked: Staff & service, amenities
This hotel is huge and well used. Our room was ok but seriously dirty carpet is such a turn off. We appreciated the little bar and restaurant. The grounds are well kept. Staff were helpful.
Lobby & atrium were very nice. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Room was dated. Same furniture & carpet from 40 years ago. Bed rolled you to the middle and was not comfortable. I could listen to people in the next room talking. Not yelling, just talking. Many rooms do not have a microwave and ours did not. They did deliver one at my request though. Did not eat there but menu looked overpriced. I'm sure it's still a great place to hold a conference, but I'll not stay there again because I believe that for the price of the room, I can find better.
The staff in the lounge were wonderful and made our dining experience enjoyable!! The food was delicious also!
The property was beautiful and well landscaped! The hotel itself was laid out very well with spaciousness and brightness!
Our only problem was the air conditioner wasn’t working very well, but still cool enough.
We will definitely stay there again!!
Walking to handicaped rooms was a considerable distance from entrance and lobby. It seemed like at least the distance of a football field or more. The staff were aware of distance and offered a wheelchair.
The hotel staff were acomidating and helpfull.
The breakfast had plenty of choices and the food was good
I liked that the property was surrounded by wetlands and trees everywhere. I also liked that there were walking trails that circled the property. The building is unique and had a definite haunted vibe. I loved our server at the breakfast cafe in the morning she was awesome! I didn't like that there was not a microwave in the room I had to request one to get one, however the front desk person brought it to me at the end of his shift. I didn't like that there was a random sunflower seed shell on the floor between our 2 beds. I didn't like the moldy windows in the hallway down from the lobby, peeling paint in the pool area, and the sauna in the womens locker room was really shabby and all the wood rotted so there was not really a safe place to sit down. It seems rundown in a lot of ways, but nice in other ways.
Room was okay; comfortable bed, small fridge, no microwave. No laundry room though. Connected to an athletic club for pool and hot tub access. If you have guests over to swim they have to pay the athletic club fee. Parking is adjacent to the hotel and you have to walk a little distance to get back into the hotel and your room. They have a restaurant and bar but I never used them. There's no free breakfast; you have to pay each day, around $15-$18. Overall, an okay experience, but I don't think I'll stay there again.
For someone who has issues with bending at my knees, the toilets in the room were way too low. I couldn’t sit on the one in my room without it causing me pain. I had to use the restroom near the lobby. Other than that one complaint. The staff were amazing and friendly. The food was on point, especially the pizza at the bar.
Beautiful hotel, good proximity to all the Minneapolis things we wanted to see! We really enjoyed the hot tub and pool after long days of sight seeing, and the bar staff was particularly wonderful.
My dogs were welcomed with love, and my odd requests were honored with a smile by every single person I met. The staff are attentive, kind, and have an easy manner. The hotel handled a big Minnesota spring storm with grace. I ended up extending my stay by a week!
Pleasant decor, beautiful walking trail behind the hotel, delicious full breakfast. Breakfast staff was outstanding and welcoming. Rooms and facilities were very clean and the setting was quiet.
