"Bathroom toilet wouldn’t flush all the way, made the room smell bad, and yes we didn’t flush any toilet paper, informed the manager about it and nothing was done, wouldn’t stay here again."

"I honestly choose a resort, but I accidentally choose this area. However, I would recommend for those who are low budget travelers but who are willing to take a break and rest in their amazing hot springs. They do have hiking trail, but it is the best not to go in the midst of rain. You will slip and get yourself all muddy. I learn that that hard way. You can walk around the town, but honestly, there is not too much to see aside from the church and cemenetry. The church had an interestingsaint...

"This lodge is located off the beaten track. It takes about 20 min to get here from Mindo on a narrow dirt road. The accommodation is basic but nice. Staff is small but very attentive. My cabin was spacious with one queen sized bed and three single beds (two of them in a loft). Nature around the lodge is beautiful."

"The seamless integration of nature, sustainability, and luxury is what truly sets Mashpi Lodge apart. From immersive guided experiences in the Chocó rainforest to thoughtfully curated cuisine rooted in local sourcing and Ecuadorian traditions, every aspect of the stay felt intentional and enriching. The level of personalization throughout—from dining and excursions to wellness offerings—created a sense of ease and connection, allowing us to fully engage with the environment without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. The balance between adventure and restoration was exceptional, particularly the guided walks and the tranquil spa experiences set within the rainforest itself. Above all, the lodge fosters a deep appreciation for conservation and biodiversity, transforming the visit into not just a stay, but a meaningful and memorable journey."
"Staff was amazing and very accommodating, the grounds and views were breathtaking, authentic touches throughout (including a wood stove!), and the llamas were adorable. No complaints, highly recommend. Wonderful way to celebrate my birthday week."
