Our daughter lives in Midland and we have been staying elsewhere but the prices keep rising. We started looking for campgrounds and found Horseshoe. The cabin was incredibly clean, very comfortable and spacious. It was quiet for being near I20. Easy check in and check out. We will definitely be back on our next trip down to see family. If you know Midland, it is in the desert, so knowing that information helps to know what to expect.

The place was very dirty. There was dust bunnies all over above the stovetop on the wall. The bed frame was full of dust and dirt. Lots of weeds everywhere. Camp Trailers attached to the back of the cabins. There was toothpaste flung on the wall in the bathroom. They do not clean unless you ask them to come clean. Fingerprints still on the outside of the fridge. The laundry room was just as dirty. The folding table had small ants all over and there was dust bunnies everywhere. If you are an oil rigging employee you would feel safe but for a woman traveling alone it is not a good spot. Way outside of midland and Odessa. So not a very convenient location. Wish I would have rented a hotel. The WiFi was down the whole time and so had to go buy a hotspot so I could use my laptop to run my business.

So check out is at 12 we requested a late check out and the person upfront was calling me since 12 from not even the property’s phone number I’m assuming it’s his personal number. Well he called and I informed him my husband was in the room to go ahead and wake him up he informed me that my husband told him he might be extending which I could not be on the phone as I was at work. So after I told him go ahead and wake him up because he works nights and he’s probably sleeping he proceeded to let him stay in the room which is really on them well at 2:30 the man calls my phone again and states that he was going to call the authorities because my husband left hours past check out which it was an hr past the late check out that was requested and the person from the front stayed arguing with me over the phone just very unprofessional and rude. I advised him that I was not the one who stated I’d be paying I told them to knock and tell my husband it was check out because he probably over slept from working late. Very unprofessional to call me and be harassing me with other charges and to harass me with calling the police over leaving the property an hr past the late check out he was guaranteed.

Marina, you booked the room and you are responsible. Your husband stole both keys, you an unannounced pitbull dog that defecated all around your unit. Left the place in such terrible shape after just 1 day stay. No late checkout was requested. Your husband upon asking if he needs to extend said he is and hes going to get cash (after 3pm) yet he packed all his belongings and left without returning the keys and leaving damage. And when we called you you say not my issue you go wake him up lol

Booked two little cute wood sided cabins. Paid for two little cute wood sided cabins. Arrived to check-in and sent to a worn out oil-worker style FEMA trailer. Dirty & noisy. Worst night ever. Beware of this place, you may not get what you book. Manager would not communicate with me.

Very noisy, needs some type of landscaping and general grounds clean-up. I know this is really an oil workers' camp, but it seems the owners are striving to make it more. For the price they are charging, it needs an upgrade.

One Night Stand
Been a while since I've stayed in Midland, but this was a throw back to the old days. This is really an oil field camp, designed for long term stays. Rooms were comfortable, never did meet the manager or whoever runs the desk, almost opened an occupied cabin, but the stay was what we needed - a place for a night of rest on the road.

I made the reservation online hours before I showed up. I arrived no manager was on-site I called the number and was told it would be 30 min and was given the room I was to be in. I went to the room about 5 min early and it was dark. I waited the 30 min because I was told the door would be open. It was locked so I called and was told to wait he was gonna call his cleaning lady mind you ths is 7:30 pm. After a few min he came back on the line and reluctantly gave me the code for the door and I opened the door but it was someone else’s room. I locked the door and called back. He said to give him 5 min. I waited no call I figured let him do his thing. I went to dinner before I got there he called back and told me to call when I was back he had a room for me. After dinner I came back called and was put in a bigger cabin. The bed was a little soft for me and all the heaters were on so it was hot. But it was more comfortable. I did mention I was going to extend my stay but wasn’t sure the day yet. The following day at about 3 I was told Sunday or Monday we would be done working I see the message from the manager that I had to pack up my stuff and have to make any changes in person because they are full. I called and was asking if I can go to work in the am and come back I carry a lot of equipment for work inside my truck and I’m the back. Having all my belongings doesn’t work for me. After work at 8pm I check he said he forgot about me and was gonna put me back in the same room.

A nice surprise
Very easy check in & check out. The cabin was very clean. Thick towels. We stayed one night it was quiet.Restaurant’s were 10 miles easy to get to. We will stay here again.

This is a very cool spot to stay, everyone is friendly, its like a little tiny home cabin camping experience. I loved it, will stay again. Puppers friendly and lots of room to walk and play with the doggos too!!! you get the park right in front of your cabin, and checking in is as easy as walk in the door the key is on the table! love it.

Worked well for what we needed
We stayed here one night while passing through on a long road trip. We got there a little later than planned but we were able to check in extremely easy as they had left our cabin open for us. The cabin itself has a dedicated parking spot in front of it, was thoroughly cleaned, and in pretty good condition. The floor right in front of the shower has been warped by wear and tear and water damage, but the rest of the floors are practically pristine and appeared newer. Newer upgrades than I expected were in there (like the countertops/vanities). The mattress was a little on the worn/softer side, but the linens were comfortable and clean. There was a small heater which worked well to heat the room up quickly. There are no dishes, so if you plan to cook, you will need to bring those. I didn’t realize this previously, but we had planned to eat leftovers from lunch earlier that day anyway so it didn’t matter. The front office offers free coffee and a variety of other things (muffins, pastries, etc) in a grab and go style and the staff was super friendly and helpful. There’s also a pool table/game room and laundry room by the front office for those staying longer.

Nice place to stay!
We were passing through Midland on a long journey back home to Houston. This was just what we needed. I could see this being excellent for longer stays as well. There's a full kitchen, shower, tv, and a nice assortment of coffee, oatmeal packets, granola bars, and packaged pastries for breakfast. It's really neat that each guest has their own cabin! It's also very close to Odessa so we were able to hop over there to see a few tourist attractions on the way home. Our only complaint was the bed. It was a little firm for us. It would really benefit from a mattress topper. Overall, it was a great stay and I would recommend it to anybody!

The cabins are nice. All wood and the feeling of being in the mountains. There is oilfield work/equipment all around them. Beds were lumpy/old and my box spring slipped off the bed frame twice and had to be put back on.

The young lady running the office was pretty damn awesome. Nice, friendly and easy to get along with. The cabin itself was very comfortable and the AC worked perfectly. I do recommend they offer at least hand soap in the bathroom and more towels. I understand that the property has quite a few of extended guests, but put small items in the rooms for those not staying for awhile. I did mention the extended guests, I had no problem with any of them, in fact everyone kept to their self. Someone had a wonderful idea putting these cabins in the middle of nowhere, however I would suggest tidying up a bit by having grassy areas. I do understand that it’s West Texas but grass will grow. Maybe hire a lawn service to put it in. Overall I will keep the place in mind on my next trip.
