Very close to the beach, shops and restaurants. Walkable. They also cleaned the room everyday if we asked which was nice. Small breakfast 8:00-12:00 at the lobby from Dunkin’ Donuts was also nice.

The room and property was as shown in the pictures. The bed was comfy. The blankets a bit outdated but goes with the theme/history of the aged hotel. Newly renovated, good a/c, free WiFi, and lots of channels for television watchers. The place was clean and in a very convenient location to shopping, the beach, the Fillmore Theater and the Convention Center. I would absolutely stay again.

We loved the location which was walkable, not only to Miami Beach, but the surrounding shops/parks. Great to be able to leave our bags before/after our stay so we could still explore.before our flights. The internet was intermittent, so a bit annoying. Very arty with lots of memorabilia around the walls that made it interesting and nice.

A perfectly functional hotel with a great location near convention center and Lincoln road. It's an odd, irreverent and has slightly unnerving décor but somehow with some flea market charm. There is zero fancy about the hotel but I didn't need it for much more than that. Would totally consider again if I never expected to have guests lol.

The staffs are rude. It seemed that they are annoyed with something. I travelled with a baby and they started to comment even when the baby just touched at something. Always saying that if break you have to pay. Also at the time of check out, there was a big box with little garbage in it. I threw some trash items in it and the receptionist started to yell. I told him that i thought it to be a dustbin, thats why threw here. But he was not listening to me and was in his own zone. The only plus thing at this hotel is the parking and secondly its close to miami beach. I guess thats the biggest advantage of staying in this hotel. Over all good experience and i would request the receptionist to be little polite to their guests. Thanks.!

Positives: - great location near the beach - well decorated - affordable price - friendly staff Negatives: - not so comfortable bed - very weak water in the shower - the fridge doesn't work well (the ice cream melted even if it was in the freezer) - you hear all kind of noises from the neighbours Overall: it's a good option if you are on budget and you are not looking for great comfort

James Hotel a little gem

This was one block from the Beach and right near Lincoln Road. In a brillant location for seeing Miami Beach. With a real quirky appearance and very friendly reception staff. Room was basic, big, comfy, clean and with a good bathroom with plenty of hot water. There was a fridge and microwave but no cups or cutlery etc. we didnt use so didnt matter. Car parking was also available. This was a great value for money little place

OMG!! I just got home today from Miami and I have to say I LOVED this place. If you want a hotel with character, this is the place. It's not super fancy but it is weird, cute, interesting, and oh so decorative!!....and I love interesting!! The front desk lady was very nice and we arrived hella early but they held our bags for a $5 fee, which wasn't bad at all. It was clean, quiet, within about a 5min walk from the beach, and located near a ton of shopping and restaurants. My next visit to Miami will include the James Hotel!!

The room looks different from the photo; the bed is bad and needs a change, and the bathroom doesn't have an extractor. They continue cleaning, but the wipes or the things that are used smell bad. The personnel are great and don't talk too much, but they help you and are very nice.

Poor Quality Hotel

Very Old Building, with very poor unprofessional reception service. Rooms were very hot and dusty with small stains on pillows. Had to ask for a TV remote and Iron (every essential item is with the front desk). Also they will be needing a passport or ID for all quests for some reason so that you can stay (they have their own rules and is not like other hotels) We are not satisfied at all.
