Everything was great I just wish we had time to use the pool, the pool area looked very nice. It would also be better if it included breakfast.

We’re very pleased with the whole experience Room was very clean Excellent lobby area with flowers that makes you feel welcome Safeguard luggage after check out is wonderful, we had a big gap between check out and our flight, we were able to do stuff without dragging our bags!! Not many things to like, to start the toilet in the bathroom was full of crap and it shows the housekeeping standad of the Barceló hotels, very disappointed with the housekeeping supervision. However the front desk girl was very concerned about it and took corrective action right away.

We really loved our stay at Barcelo. We had booked the premium accommodation and were really appreciative of the perks, such as snacks, buffet, welcome drinks and even one item laundered for free. The staff were pleasant and the food spread was great. The property is walking distance from Zocalo and one of our hop on and hop off bus stops was also a few hundred feet away only. We had a bit of an incident on one of the days when we took a cab from the vendor outside the hotel who lost his way and made us miss our day tour. He was exceptionally rude and tried to blame us back instead. The Hotel concierge Jorge tried to sort the issue out but the this cab syndicate refused to budge, so he helped us set up a different tour on the house, which was very kind of him and we really appreciated it. My advice would be to give the cab vendors outside the hotel lobby a miss (call an uber instead) but definitely stay at the property as it was excellent on its own.

The staff were NOT friendly. From the time we checked in until we checked out. Even if they greet you, you can tell they weren’t welcoming at all. Just like robots. When we dined in all 3 restaurants the staff will push you to give tips and sometimes they blatantly asked to give the tips in cash. Both beds in our room were lumpy. You can tell the beds were old.

We liked staying at Barceló in Mexico City for its location, the cleanness of the hotel and specially the friendly staff. We enjoyed walking to El Zocalo, Bellas Artes, the Alameda and Reforma, we never felt uncomfortable walking in these areas. We will comeback again.
