"Parking was available and convinient. Staff was very nice and helpful/accommodating. Waffles and coffee for breakfast were my fav. They did have omelets and potatoes as well, my kids liked the potatoes. Room was good, the bathroom did not have a fan. "I would like to offer a constructive suggestion regarding the room design and bed accommodations. While my overall stay was very pleasant and the service was excellent, I noticed that the spacing around the beds may present accessibility and comfort challenges for many guests. The beds were positioned extremely close to both the walls and the air conditioning unit, making it difficult to move comfortably around the room or access the beds easily. "There are limited hotel options in Merced and most are close to the freeway. HIE was nice, clean and convenient with limited traffic noise. I don’t have high expectations for free hotel breakfast but here it was pretty good. Lots of choices. Biscuits were fantastic and the bacon was crispy! Lots to of parking and the area seemed a lot safer than the hotels on Motel Row. A lot quieter than the El Cap, which we love. If you are coming up to UC Merced, this is not a bad choice."
