Was disappointed on arrival to find that parking was not included, and nowhere could be recommended. The lady who met me informed me that I should have booked parking with them separately, and that it was not now available. This was not however suggested in the listing for the room on Hotels.com and I had to park in a garage around the corner which was not only inconvenient, but which cost me in excess of $100 for the duration of my four night stay. This was not the greatest first impression.
Room was clean and modern, but basic. No maid service is offered, so the room was not cleaned in four days.
Wifi did not work so I had to use my data for the length of my stay.
Bathroom is small and sparsely furnished, with no counter to place items on. Had to spend most of the time I was in the room with the blinds lowered as the room looks directly into the opposite apartments.
Bed was comfortable, though furnishings and comforts were sparse and seemed like an after thought. (TV was located in a strange position which made it difficult to watch.)
As a single guy, I can live with most of these small inconveniences, but for what I ultimately paid when you include extra unexpected charges for parking, it wasn’t worth it.
I have stayed in nicer places for less money around the world, and feel that this is indicative of most Australian services where there is little care factor about the consumer experience, and where ‘caveat emptor’ is the order of the day.
