Property failed to honour booking made and confirmed with WOTIF. Property also failed to return 2 phone calls made on morning of check in, asking to confirm booking. All efforts were made by me to ensure a great weekend away for my WIFEs birthday. Property and booking service failed me completely and have offered nothing to rectify the situation. Bad service and bad form. Means no money will be spent with either WOTIF or Hotel Sorrento in the future. I will also use my customer right to denounce both businesses in all future conversations

Disappointed that the roof top bar which was recommended to us to visit wasn’t open, as this was a staff member who suggested it was very surprised that they didn’t know what was happening. The staff in the bar area that was open (only one out of 3 bars) were very rude. Other staff at the restaurant and reception were all very pleasant. The room was lovely, don’t think I will be rushing back any time soon.....

Staff when checking into the hotel were amazing however some of the staff that were waiting on tables were quite rude. Beautiful hotel though and spotlessly clean and comfortable.

Room number 3 has the most amazing large veranda sweeping views of the water. Sit on the banana lounges and soak it all in. Check in staff was a gorgeous lady. Wonderful customer service skills

Poorly designed
Stayed in a "garden view" room - a misleading name because the view is onto a road & car parking area with a few trees in the background. The rooms are modern & good quality but separate from the main hotel (not sure what the main hotel rooms are like). DO NOT make the mistake of using the main entrance to get to reception - you will be greeted by an obstacle course of stairs & winding corridors. Go round the back to the tradesman entrance instead. The hotel has no seating area outside of the bedrooms apart from the bar stools in the sports bar. Don't bother asking reception is there is a lounge or anywhere comfortable to sit - we were told "boutique hotels don't have a lounge". Don't be misled - this is not a boutique hotel. We didn't try the hotel restaurant. The bar is OK if you like bar stools - the barman was very helpful. Overall, you won't be disappointed if you think of a stay in a "garden" room as being in a very good motel with a sports bar [& restaurant that we didn't try]. PS it is very convenient for the ferry terminal.

A Lovely Overnight Stay
We stayed here as part of a longer road trip, the night before we had to get the early morning ferry to Queenscliff, and had a wonderful, relaxing stay. At very short notice, the staff found space for us in their restaurant, and we finished the night with an in-room spa and a comfortable night's sleep. Would love to come back for a longer stay and explore more of the local area, but was pleased the hotel had a fair amount of historical information subtly displayed for us to get a flavour of Sorrento.

Overall it was a great place to stay. Bed was comfy, room was quiet, amenities delightfull. Negatives were that the Heritage wing didnt have a lift, so had to haul bags up the stairs. Other negative was that the room looked significantly smaller than the pictures.

Didn’t like the room service food arriving cold as wasn’t covered , or cleaning items left in our bathroom on arrival . Detergents/ sprays obviously forgotten in hurry to get out of room

This time around we stayed in the old part of the hotel with ocean view. The suite was gorgeous with limestone walls & a balcony - very cosy & quiet. Love this hotel for our stays

Wonderful position. Great bar and restaurant. No English Breakfast tea in room; no sugar in room; no coffee in room. These things I would expect in a top class hotel.
