This is a pretty ordinary place. Very dated. Our room (10) was very dirty. Grime/grease on the curtain draw cords and kitchen cupboard handles. One white wall has plenty of dirt/use markings all over it. Considering the price, I expected a lot better.

Our property is not new. Disappointing that the cleaning was not up to our usual standards. Will pass this review onto housekeeping. Hoping for a big improvement as we like to think that we offer affordable, clean accommodation

Excellent communication. Apartments have all the usual amenities although I didn't utilise most, Tv in bedroom and also main area. Large size fridge. Parking off street, could be a tad tight if all were used, which they weren't when I stayed. Best part was the comfortable bed.

Clean, comfortable and COVID-19 compliant
Convenient location and comfortable accommodation nestled between North Essendon and Moonee Ponds. Tram out front. Our stay was interim overnight accommodation during house move. Essendon Apartment staff have completed COVID-19 cleaning compliance requirements. Unit was disinfected prior to occupany. Unit also had disinfectant and gloves to clean as required during stay.

Lovely apartment, very clean, comfy bed and pillows. Shower was awful, not tall enough and terrible shower head. Had a late check in and they were terrific and accomodating.

Nice exterior look to the property. Friendly reception. Handy to cafes and groceries. Price was probably ok for what was delivered. But bathroom floor had hairs on it; the heat pump was noisy and had to be set at 25-28 to get any heat.

Not the Hilton but not the YMCA either
A great little place in a very convenient area run by the delightful Sarah and James (who were filling in for the owner who was away). Reasonably priced with rear car park, free WiFi, and air con. A big lounge area and a fully serviced kitchen with a "proper" fridge/freezer, microwave, stove and sink plus the necessary utensils. Great comfy bed. Only downside was the noise from the constant flow of traffic, shade blinds instead of curtains, and the world's tiniest bathroom with shower over bath. Good for an overnight stay or a few days.

thanks for your review. Glad to hear you were treated so well. Next time perhaps we could allocate an apartment further to the back of the property. Despite being on a main road we rarely have complaints of traffic noise. The block out blinds are about 2 years old and were considered to be more hygienic than curtains. Hope to see you again on your next trip to Melbourne.

Comfortable stay!
Our stay here was comfortable and close to where we needed to go. The property manager,Annie, was friendly and helpful! The room clean and had all we needed, close to public transport, I’d stay here again.

Thankyou for taking the time to write a review. Essendon Apartments is located midway between Melb International Airport and the city. It offers quiet rooms with easy access to public transport, cafes, restaurants and Coles - all within walking distance. Each apartment has a compendium that provides information to guests; including the password for the free WIFI.

Comfortable, clean and good value
This is an old block of flats on a fairly noisy road BUT the owners have worked hard to make it a good place to stay and it is excellent value. We had a bedroom (with a comfortable bed), bathroom, full kitchen and living area. Everything clean and a good wifi. Tram or train to Melbourne CBD nearby. If you don’t want to pay the earth for a good night‘s sleep, I recommend this motel.

many thanks for your feedback. yes the building is old, however we have attempted to make the apartments as comfortable as possible. New carpet in all apartments and the gradual update of furnishings have created a pleasant place to stay. The location is especially handy for guests who choose not to bring a vehicle.

Lovely comfortable bed and roomy apartment
We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel and would definitely stay there again; exceptionally clean and comfortable and in a great location. Free car parking at the back and a kitchen to prepare food are bonuses. Annie very welcoming and we would recommend this hotel as great value in Melbourne.

Great for Moonee Valley raced
We arrived a bit late and were greeted happily by Annie who was very welcoming and very kindly drove us to the races Our room was clean and comfortable and parking was easy We have already told some friends about Essendon Apartments Annie also recommended a great breakfast place only 200 metres away which was just perfect Ten One Ate - great breaky We will be back

Very Poor Service
The apartment was very basc which was okay, but it was not very clean - especially counter surfaces, no counter space in the bathroom, minimum bathroom towels, and just not comfortable. We spent no time there other than sleeping and would not have wanted to. We were checking into a house in another part of Melbourne the following day. Our checkout was 10:00 am and our check in at 3:00 pm. We asked to store our luggage until 2:00 pm. The manager told us the office would be closed due to lunch plans. She assured us that she would be back by between 2:00 and 2:30. We arrived at 2:30 and after two calls from us beginning at 2:45 she finally sent someone to unlock the office at 3:15. We were scheduled for a night the following week and we cancelled.

A PRICEY 1950's MOTEL
This is a 1950's motel with nothing really to recommend it. The shower over bath is hard to get into at 69 years of age and the water temperature is impossible to regulate. When my wife booked in the lady doing the processing asked if my wife who is 31 years of age was staying as well --while there is an age difference between us my wife found that offensive especially as we have been married for 11 years

We arrived mid afternoon and were met by the manager who showed us through the apartment. We didn't see her again and left the keys on our departure. Everything about the apartment suited us - lounge, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom

Perfect location in Essendon
Essendon Apartments are newly renovated apartments. The service by the owner/manager was outstanding, and the rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. Perfect for a short stay in Melbourne. It is right on the tram line (Number 59) and a short walk from the train station. Nearby are some great cafes and shops as well as The Lincolnshire Arms Hotel and Coles. This is a perfect location to be close to the airport, and to get into the city without paying exorbitant inner city Melbourne prices. We will definitely be staying again.

Host Annie provided us with excellent advice re public transport, tourist attractions, restaurants...basically all that was going on in Melbourne during our week long stay. Thoroughly recommend for the price and easy access to the city with tram stops a one minute walk from the door. Off street parking a bonus!

Booked short notice (15 mintues prior) and i arrived at about 8am. Did not expect room access but given key and told it would be cleaned first. Went to breakfast and returned 45 minutes later not expecting room to be ready but was.

Convenient, Good Parking, Friendly staff and was close to our reason for being in Melbourne. Great facilities (kitchen), good heating (AC)…….and most important, an electric blanket. Bed was comfy. Tiny TV in bedroom not so good. All in all even though not a 5 Star it was a 5 Star for us. Would definitely go back.
