I've always loved the atmosphere here, current staff is definitely friendlier than staff they had before, although the breakfast used to be way better it's still awesome to go to such an affordable place that offers breakfast, all in all on the scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 10

This is a very affordable place, instead of a remodeled modern , this place has a classic old feel to it . The staff are all extremely nice and welcoming. 10/10 only thing I would advise is they do not have an elevator so if you have a lot of stuff make sure to request something on the first floor

The staff was absolutely amazing! The rooms were clean and spacious! I can say the only thing that was a slight inconvenience was the construction, but that is not the fault of the property!

Good Over All

Hotel was a little outdated, but in decent condition. Smelled a little dank as soon as you walked in and in the hallways too, but nothing too bad. Bed was comfy, a little humid in the room, but other than that it was all good. It was a comfortable stay. We enjoyed the old vintage quirks of it.

I was lucky to get a room with hard wood floors. The employees are very kind and the room was okay. The new bedding is white. I'm not sure how long it's been used, but it makes you think it might be cleaner. It makes you itch, though. The bathroom had very low water pressure and little roaches came out in the evening. I watched them crawl in the bathroom and go back into the walls around the closet. The last time I stayed, over a year ago, I was there a week and did not see a single roach. It's the Rio Grande Valley, though, and it gets unbelievably hot for most of the year (110-114 degrees) and all the palm trees attract roaches. So, this place may just need to be sprayed for bugs more often. If they invest in caulking the gaps between the floor boards and walls AND they replace the crusted shower fixtures, this place would absolutely get 4 stars. Due to the roaches that I saw both nights, I have to say 3... and almost 2 because of that. :/ * To feel better here, I recommend taking your own top sheet and blanket. I'm not sure why the bedding made me itch. I do not believe bed bugs were the problem. I think it was just the quality of the top blanket. After several washes, blankets need to be replaced. So, either they have been washed a lot or they haven't been washed in a long time. Take your own to feel at peace.
