"The staff were very friendly and treated you like family more than just guests. For a hotel near the lake, it wasn't a bad stay. Our room was clean enough where we felt comfortable staying. It was damp feeling when we first arrived but again, we were staying by the lake. We stayed for two nights and they offered a "grab and go" breakfast which was simple things like coffee, cereal, toast and pre packaged breakfast pastries. The second night we stayed, there was a leak in the bathroom which I was told was from the toilet, it supposedly has a cup that needs to be emptied ever so often. Anyways, my only real complaint was that the staff were nowhere to be found in the morning when I needed something. They have a sign up at the desk to pick up the phone and it would automatically call them to signal that someone was at the front desk. But I had been waiting for 15 minutes and no one showed up, not even housekeeping. Overall, I wouldn't expect a clean or well serviced hotel like the Marriott but it serves its purpose as a motel."
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites in North East (Erie) by IHG
10/10 Excellent
"We had an amazing stay. The staff was so friendly, nice and helpful! The pool was awesome, our kids loved it! The breakfast was amazing. There were so many options for all different kinds of breakfast. The kids thought it was like a mini restaurant. We would definitely stay here again being how close it is to Niagara Falls and Lake Erie. The hotel is very conveniently located right next to I-90; which made it really easy to get where we wanted to go. It was kind of off by itself which was nice because it was very quiet you didn't have to deal with much traffic or noise. It just was a great experience!"
"Abdolutely a great choice gor a long weekend. The room was spacious and very clean, every morning there was freshly brewed Starbucks coffee for all in the hall, the gym was well equiped and perfect for a quick ywt complete workout, the staff was very helpful and nice and welcoming. Location was excellent less than 25 min from Chautauqua Institute and closer to Bemus Point. And the view of the lake from the hotel was beautiful with beautiful sitting area and flowers and so very well maintained. Ohh and lots of parking.. free and readily available! I highly recommend it. We will definitely be back. Thank you!!"
"A flashback to the heyday of Americana, the Motel concept. While staying here for the second time in as many years I have noted that our European friends stay here to a get the vibe of all the American movies they have seen from that era. Great community family-friendly; after-all it is where Welches grape juice is made. Plus awesome Italian food is located downtown."
