"We really loved our stay here. The location was great as you could easily walk down to the beach and back, having parking and a hose to wash the sand out as well as access to borrow many recreational stull at the home was awesome. We got upgraded for free to a slightly larger room which was really nice and unexpected. Nights were quiet and the bed was comfy. Only improvement in my opinion is maybe adding AC (even a small standing unit) may help. The heat made it a bit hard to sleep but nothing a quick cold shower or a dip in the ocean can't fix. Overall, It was a really nice place to stay, we will definitely stay here again when visiting the Big Island/Kona area."
"My family and I had a very nice stay at the Outrigger in Kona. The hotel was close to everything yet far enough away from downtown Kona that it felt peaceful and secluded. We enjoyed the hotel room, the gym, and the beautiful area surrounding the hotel. We had one problem with our air conditioner that was quickly resolved by the hotel staff."
"The lodge was a fun step back in time. It had 70s/early 80s feel of a simpler time.
The the staff was great, the room was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend for a night in Volcano park"
"Wow! This property was exceptional - room was a 2 bedroom with king bed in one and two twins in the other (as was requested- so thankful). Kitchen was well stocked with cooking tools/utensils, plates, silverware, etc. Even had a small cooler to use. Was very spacious and so very clean!!
Things I did not know - this is a vacation property and at check in the concierge will meet with you to set up a timeshare/vacation rental presentation at one of their properties. This was not something I was expecting or had time for - they were very gracious when I did not want to schedule.
Only true cons (just to prep you) - (1) parking is quite a walk from where you will stay - so plan accordingly for unpacking and walking up; (2) and the location is not truly near anything like grocery store, restaurants, etc.
All in all - would stay again if I were staying for a longer vacation as it is an excellent home base."
"It was one of my best stays in all of my travels and vacations in the past few years. I originally only planned one night but stayed one more night. The view from the guesthouse’s lanai is incredibly beautiful and the guesthouse was well-designed and decorated with heart. The room was clean. Most importantly, the staffs welcomed me like a friend. I thank all of the hosts especially Mike, who not only gave me a very detailed tour when I arrived, but also recommended me some places to visit near the area, which I totally enjoyed them. Lastly, I forgot to mention the awesome breakfast they provided. It was so delicious, especially when eating in a setting with the ocean view from the lanai."
