Great spot. Beautiful view. Maratea Centro is a very cool little town above the beaches and port - just a 10 minute drive to many beaches. The service was excellent, sitting by the pool was great, and the hotel gave us a great recommendation for dinner. Also conveniently the path to walk up to the Redeemer Statue is just steps away and takes less than an hour.
We loved it!
Definitely one of the best hotels we have booked in Italy. It is a 1700 building, very cozy, interesting, romantic, very beautiful. Superior customer service for sure.
Beautiful inn. Many levels filled with interesting furniture and collectons. Garden down at the lower level nice with orange tree, bird of paradise and little seating area. Excellent breakfast buffet with large selection.
Wonderful Hotel with a pool set in a beautiful hilltop town. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Very clean with geat amenities. Overall a great stay!
Lovely hotel with very good service, excellent breakfast, very good pool (long enough for lap swimming). Many stairs down to the center of a very small town. The beach (only by car - 10 minutes) is fabulous.
The pool and pool area is lovely, though the pool could use some heat. The room was okay--a bit cramped and the bed was too hard. Breakfast average but fine. Staff very helpful.
We loved this old convent turned hotel in the hills above the sea in Maratea, Italy. It was charming and filled with artifacts from all over the world. The owners were also charming. However, the restaurant was closed and we had to walk quite a distance to the village below for dinner. Their pool was amazing with wonderful mountain views. We felt so safe and welcome here.
This is a wonderful hotel located above Maratea in a quiet location within an easy walk to the old town. The facilities were great with a beautiful pool and terrace.. Free parking in a secure location was also provided. The staff were also very helpful and the service was 1st class.
The hotel is absolutely charming and with a lot of character. The service is great and the pool area is amazing with some incredible views. Great place to stay at when in Maratea.
Stayed here for 3 nights and overall an excellent experience, nice rustic style rooms with slightly hard beds. Air conditioner in the room is non adjustable and would not cope in the middle of summer I suspect
Hotel has its own parking and is located on the hill above the port area, too far to walk to the port (2.5 miles) but the central square with a range of options for eating is 5 minutes walk away.
The on-site restaurant is excellent and priced a little above the other options nearby.
Not sure how you would reach the hotel without a car
Fabulous hotel with great facilities. A very interesting building full of pictures and piece s of art. Was end of season and high winds so unable to use wonderful poolside area till last day. Much enjoyed breakfasts and dinners. No lunch available and private beach was closed. A feeling of end of season in hotel and in Maratea. So enjoyed restaurants closed but the ones open were excellent. Great local walks. Such friendly and helpful staff. Car would be good but we did use buses.
We were upgraded for free when we arrived and had a lovely room with a beautiful view of the historic town. The hotel is lovely but has the potential to be terrific. All they would need to do is update the style of the rooms a little and improve their restaurant/bar area slightly.

Very nice hotel in Maratea, still keeps it "Locanda" style which is what makes it nice...
The hotel did not live up to expectations. Rooms were tiny, especially the bathroom which was very basic. No more than a 3* hotel in my estimation. Very disappointing.
A very friendly clean and well run B&b The outdoor swimming area was set in a beautiful garden over looking the old town of Maratea it has a very good restaurant and it us only a short walk into the town centre. The only drawback was that it is set on many levels so there a lot stairs. The staff do help with your luggage.
From the time that we were met at check in until when we checked out, the staff could not have been more friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble from advice about where to eat, how to get around the local area and always checking that we were comfortable.
Beautiful gardens and pool area, with a generous breakfast each morning and also great food in the hotel's restaurant.
This is a lovely hotel in a former convent that is an oasis of calm. The building is beautiful, staff friendly and helpful and the location, perched just above the town, is perfect. The view from our room was stunning, I'd highly recommend it.
Beautifully converted convent .....
Very serene and quiet...
Full of cosy corners indoors and outside..
To relax and appreciate...
Gorgeous swimming pool...
Good breakfast and great dinner..
Shuttle provided to beach club in quiet wooded area ,,, on the rocks... safe access to sea via steps....with cafe for food and drinks..
Great view over the whole of Maratea from our room....staff most helpful...
Access to town via hotel shuttle or walk via steep stone steps...
Would definitely recommend....
Only one negative point.... lots of church Bells and start early morning.....
Loved this hotel and will definitely return. In the middle of central Maratea. Free shuttle and chairs at the amazing beach. Accommodations for us and our large dog. Couldn't recommend this place more!
The hotel itself was lovely and the staff friendly. There is a lovely swimming pool and several attractive seating areas in the hotel and garden. The hotel is built on several levels so would not be suitable for anyone with a walking disability as there are stairs everywhere. We stayed for 3 nights. If you don't have a car this is probably sufficient as it is difficult to get around without one and taxis would be expensive (€20 between 4 of us from the station to the hotel and €15 for 2 of us back down to the station). The walk down to the marina takes about 1.5 hours - it's not sign posted. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the beach. High season is in July and August. We were there at the end of May and the village was almost deserted with nothing much going on. The tourist office was closed but we managed to get a not-very-useful map from a travel agent. The walk to the top of the hill to the statue of Christ was pleasant. I believe there are other walks around but it was difficult to get any directions. The hotel is a lovely place to relax and pamper yourself (massages are on offer but I'm not sure if they are available all year round). The restaurant is good, as is the breakfast offering.
We stayed six nights at this great hotel in Maratea. We were warmly welcomed by staff and were greeted with refreshing apricot juice and helped with our luggage.
Loved this hotel in charming Maratea!! Lovely hotel with great service! Front desk staff was very helpful! Suggesting restaurants and helping us get to places to see in the area. Loved the service from our waiter Danico at Restorante IL Sacello!! Wonderful dinner sea bass was delightful and the pork was great too!! The breakfast was yummy and the best cappuccino of our trip!! We enjoyed relaxing by the pool and loved the church bells chiming nearby! We highly recommend this hotel!! Don't miss the local sights wonderful marina and also the Statua del Cristo overlooking the area.
This is a beautiful hotel, we arrived to a much needed welcome iced tea after 3 hours drive from Naples. The staff took our cases to our rooms and parked our car due to its location. There were road works which meant we had to go around the town but once inside, there's a set of stairs by the hotel pool to the town. A really lovely relaxing stay. Great pool and we loved the way the hotel rooms sit on different floors. Shame we only stayed for one night.
Excellent hotel but potentially difficult to reach
We loved this hotel and especially the attached restaurant which was amazing. It was difficult to reach due to bad weather and a road closure, so it would be wise to contact the hotel ahead of time to get accurate directions.
We cannot thank Loredana and her team enough they were all amazingly genuine and had a real desire to ensure your stay was the very best they could offer. The hotel is beautifully clean and in a fantastic position to discover Italy independently. Any negatives ? Not really, the hotel is quite difficult to find but we believe this added to its charm. So far this area is unspoilt, let's hope it stays that way! Thank you
Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a nice place to stay that comes with history. The town is very picturesque in a mountain setting. The hotel is a fun challenge to find but well worth the experience. Just keep driving forward despite the road getting narrower as you climb. The restaurant was excellent.
Charming hotel in a great position. Air conditioning needs upgrading as ineffective in some rooms. Restaurant service detracts from the excellent menu.
Booked at the last moment we were greeted by the delightful owners and were well looked after throughout our 3 night stay be it in the hotel generally or in the restaurant where we wined and dined well on each of our 3 nights . This was an excellent choice of hotel and we will remember the courteous attention extended to us and other discerning clientele. Only problem was being late season the swimming pool water was somewhat invigorating!
Maratea...... What a wonderful experience. La Locanda itselfl is a beautiful hotel set in an idyllic, relaxing and tranquil environment. The staff at the hotel and in general the people of Maratea are incredibly welcoming and I couldn't think of a better place to totally unwind and immerse oneself in Italian culture.
