The room was very clean and there was a kettle and tea facilities. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was very good and good value. The stairs and floors were confusing as lifts stopped on a half floor so up or down a flight of stairs to reception, restaurant or room. The thermostat to the shower was not working so had to stop my husband with dementia from showering as the water was scalding hot so no shower for two days. The corridor reeked of cigarette smoke so some guests obviously smoking in their rooms.

Was pleasantly surprised by the hotel and room, considering it being a last minute reservation and the price being so low. The staff were very welcoming and the room was lovely and clean. It even came with a little kettle and tea and coffee supplies. The meals are reasonably priced, however, I cannot comment on these as we did not eat in at the hotel restaurant. The hotel bar also looked very clean and welcoming, but again, we did not take advantage of this amenity. The hotels location, being directly opposite an Aldi, is very convenient and public transport is only a 5 minute walk away making it ideal. However, I will state that the hotel doesn't accommodate for those with severe mobility issues/chair uses, due to the elevators stopping between floors. We were given a room on the 6th floor so needed to catch the elevator to the 7th floor and then walk down a flight of stairs to reach our floor. That is the only issue we could see for people but we had an amazing time in Manchester and at the Ox hotel. Will definitely be booking again the next time we visit.

L’Ox Hotel Manchester è una struttura un po’ datata, ma ben tenuta. Le camere sono spaziose e soprattutto molto pulite, aspetto per me fondamentale. Il personale è stato sempre gentile, disponibile e accogliente, facendoci sentire a nostro agio fin dall’arrivo. La colazione è davvero fantastica, varia e di qualità, un ottimo modo per iniziare la giornata. Nel complesso, l’hotel offre un eccellente rapporto qualità/prezzo. Molto comoda anche la possibilità di cenare nel pub all’interno della struttura, una soluzione pratica durante il soggiorno.

The only minor issues were sorted immediately by staff (shower too hot) The only other issue we had was other residents not closing their doors properly which led to a warning beeping but only by the time the person was half way down in the lift. On one hand, this woke us up several times. On the other it’s a good way of letting potential thieves know which doors are open. Could do with a little note on each door to inform people about this or a mention at check in.

The room was clean, the staff friendly, but what impressed me most, was the fact that the room was cleaned on our second day. When we walked into our room the night after an exhausting day out, it was marvellous to have a clean room. The upgrade was also special. We will definitely visit again.
