I am writing to express significant concern regarding the lack of safety, security, and care demonstrated during our recent stay at the Manchester/Boston Courtyard by Marriott.
On the evening of Sunday, February 15th, a visibly intoxicated individual was attempting to enter multiple guest rooms. Although the police were called, no action was taken, and the individual was allowed to return to his room. He proceeded to yell throughout the night, clearly impaired by more than just alcohol, and was behaving in a manner that was unsafe and disruptive. This individual should have been removed from the property for the safety and comfort of all guests.
Additionally, on the morning of our departure, an extremely disturbing incident occurred. My wife was in the shower, and my son was still asleep when a member of the housekeeping staff attempted to forcefully open our door. The aggressive nature of the attempt—violent banging and pressure on the lock—left my wife shaken for hours, especially given her past trauma. This occurred well before checkout time and while we were actively preparing to leave.
These incidents are entirely unacceptable and do not meet the standards we have come to expect from Marriott. We have stayed at numerous Marriott properties over the years with our hockey and baseball organizations, and this was by far the worst experience we have ever encountered. I anticipate that other families in our group will also report similar concerns about individuals.
