The Caledonian Hotel

8/10 Good
"Nice welcome at reception. Lift to our room good. Room very basic, white painted walls with 1 poxy picture above the bed. Very basic furniture in room, wardrobe & sort of desk/dressing table. Nowhere to put the case so it went on the floor! Couple of chairs. Because we'd had a long day stopped here for dinner, acceptable 3 courses ยฃ25. Bar was busy with a coach party and only 1 person behind bar, occasionally aided by another. Bed not very comfy and ensuite smaller than the caravan's we'd just stayed in! Breakfast passable. All in all not the best place we'd stayed in during our trip around Scotland but one of the most expensive! Was that because we had a view of the loch?? Not one we'll return to. As usual nice friendly staff however."
