False advertising, completely different than photos, and terrible property managers.
I have been in the travel industry for years, I work directly with property owners, I’ve traveled all over the world, and this was one of the worse rental experience I’ve ever had.
Do not make the same mistake I did and be fooled by the affordable price for the location, the apartment is COMPLETELY different than the photos and there are way better properties for the money.
When I arrived, I was shocked. I contacted SmartRentals right away to say they had made a mistake and given me the wrong apartment. They denied it being different and flat out ignored me when I asked to speak to a manager. They told me I had to pay more if I wanted a different apartment. I wanted the one shown in the photos that I booked!
The management team had an excuse for every issue I surfaced, and if they didn’t know what to say, they ignored me until my day of check out when they knew I would leave a negative review. I’m almost certain they will try to discredit my review as well.
Other Negatives:
- not very clean, filth on walls, mop in the corner, hairs in the sink and shower, broken lamp
- took 2 cold showers back to back
- zero natural light, soooo depressing and dingy
- not so much as a coffee machine in the kitchen
Positive: location
It’s a shame my only recourse is to try and warn other travelers. I hope you avoid the SmartRental company entirely, I wish I had.
