The only complaint I have is that I had to enter all passport information manually over my phone . And because I don’t have phone service in Spain. I had to walk from store to store and ask if someone can let me use the WiFi. It was a pain.

For starters, instructions to access the apartment were wrong (and only in Spanish). The water kettle didnt work. There were no instructions how to use kitchen appliances (induction stovetop was hard to turn on). The bathroom lacked shelving or unit to place toletries. There wasnt even a trashbin. One bedroom had no closet or dresser to put belongings, and both bed springs/mattresses were basic. Walls are thin and you can hear conversations/toilet flushing from adjacent apartments. It is listed as accommodating 6, but we were cramped with 4 (only 4 chairs for the kitchen table). Support is nonexistent as no one responds to questions via text, and there is phone number that nobody answered. We went to the "24 hour service" near the apartment, and a woman named Desta said she couldn't do anything for us and there was no supervisor or manager available. She said someone would call, but no one did. We do not recommend.

Property was definitely not was on the picture. It was super small and super old. We were super excited to the cute apartment we saw on the picture and when we arrive it was horrible.

Absolutely terrible communication. The rental was not ready for check in time. Called the host several times and no answer..the list of bad things is too long..it was a big mistake renting this unit. Never again with self check in

The worst was check in. We spent an hour and a half after check in time standing in front of locked door to get thr instructions on how to get in. Btw, there were two more couples having the same problem. Finally we've got email. We stayed fo 9 nights. There for we should've get one cleaning service in the middle. However we found it out accidently 2 days before depature. A couple of small things. Renting apartment with kitchen, one would expect cutting board, kitchen towels, something to hold hot pots.

Basic but clean
Location great , apartment small, no lounge area only kichenett, had all the equipment needed if you need to cook, good size bed, no communication as needed change of towells had to call a number didnt bother,shower was cold the whole of my stay, no fan in bathroom and bathroom door faulty, the balcony on in 1c flat was not designed to sit and people above throwing food down on it for birds should be adressed had to keep door closed as didint want anyhing coming in. Noisy as you could here cleaners and guest leaving early morning so if need peace not for you. Overall basic but clean.

Madrid BFF trip
The room was awesome and cool because it was so hot in Madrid. The place was clean and we really enjoyed it. The only negative was getting a hold of the rental agency to get new towels and toilet paper. It was a great place otherwise.

I am so happy I stayed here during my stay in Madrid! Before my arrival, they texted me (via WhatsApp — recommend this if you're switching SIM cards or on an alternative communication plan while traveling) simple and comprehensive instructions for how to get into the building, my unit, and other need-to-knows. This is an excellent place to stay if you don't wanna stay at a hostel. I love how close this hotel is to an LGBTQA -friendly area with shops & a Mercado. There are sturdy hardwood steps and a cute retro-style-with-the-door elevator to help you get up and down the building. Housekeeping floats about the premises and keeps things very tidy. The front door is well-secured and the street is well-lit at night. The combination washer/dryer came in clutch as I was at a music festival and going on other city adventures; this is crucial if you're on a multi-city journey across Spain or the rest of the peninsula or continent. I got a Tide pod with the mini housekeeping kit provided. Within walking distance are a pharmacy and corner store where I was able to get additional essentials for my trip. The kitchen also comes with pots and pans, a coffeemaker without filters (I bought instant coffee), glasses and mugs, cutlery, and other basics. The bed was super cozy and the balcony was wonderful for morning brews and warm-ups under the sun. The Chueca metro station is a very easy walk from the hotel and easily gets you anywhere in the city. Would def stay here again :)

Great location and apartment, I suggest not renting in Building 6 and first floor apartment. It is over a workshop and very noisy. Plus the road there is very noisy. Best if up higher I would think.

Air conditioners did not work, Shower flooded the bathroom. When they leave a mop and bucket in the bathroom you can guess there is a problem. Waited over an hour for someone to give us a code to get in. Good location. We do not recommend staying with this company.

The property needs to be deep cleaned before the new guests arrive and also the sofa bed must be replace is broken and it has a dirty cover, more towels should be provide to the guests. Als the bed sheets and pillows must be changed, and the wall mural of the grand via is broken.

The property is in a perfect location. With walking distance to everything nearby. Shops. Bars. Restaurants. False advertising, completely different than photos, and terrible property managers. I have been in the travel industry for years, I work directly with property owners, I’ve traveled all over the world, and this was one of the worse rental experience I’ve ever had. Do not make the same mistake I did and be fooled by the affordable price for the location, the apartment is COMPLETELY different than the photos and there are way better properties for the money. When I arrived, I was shocked. I contacted SmartRentals right away to say they had made a mistake and given me the wrong apartment. They denied it being different and flat out ignored me when I asked to speak to a manager. They told me I had to pay more if I wanted a different apartment. I wanted the one shown in the photos that I booked! The management team had an excuse for every issue I surfaced, and if they didn’t know what to say, they ignored me until my day of check out when they knew I would leave a negative review. I’m almost certain they will try to discredit my review as well. Other Negatives: - not very clean, filth on walls, mop in the corner, hairs in the sink and shower, broken lamp - took 2 cold showers back to back - zero natural light, soooo depressing and dingy - not so much as a coffee machine in the kitchen Positive: location It’s a shame my only recourse is to try and warn other travelers. I hope you avoid the SmartRental company entirely, I wish I had.
