Very convenient. Well kept & clean, with a housekeeping, which we hadn’t expected. Within walking distance to many many attractions. We would stay there again.

A very well kept and conveniently located Hostal, centrally located to a lot of attractions, Steps away from Plaza Mayor, walking distance to La Gran Via, Puerta Del Sol , Paseo de Alcala Palacio Real, La Cathedral De La Almudena 15- 20 minutes walking distance to Museo del Prado, Botanical Gardens and Plaza de la Cibeles, I cannot say enough good things about the people running this establishment, Janette thanks for all the help you gave me while I stayed there, Hope to see you again soon, Alfred

Comfortable in Madrid
Centrally located hostel in Madrid with smallish but very clean and comfortable rooms! Definitely recommend if in Madrid.

Super location!
The location is perfect. Staff is friendly and room always clean. Might book there again but will try to get a room further down the corridor. First room is a bit noisy.

Great Value
Excellent location, you can easily reach all the main attractions of the city by foot. Room was in good condition, very tidy. Only downsides are that the bathroom felt a bit too small and sometimes it was a bit noisy.

Very affordable and great location. Service was very good. I am used to small facilities in Europe but honestly I could barely access the toilet in the bathroom. I also missed that the reception desk was on the second floor.

Fabulous experience!
This is a really unique hostal because the employees live on premises and they are very, very committed to good service. Janet (the concierge) was incredibly generous and the staff allowed me to extend my stay multiple times. The facilities were clean and orderly and the location is great. The rooms are modern and spacious enough for a short solo stay. I was there 11 nights all in all and was comfortable from start to finish. Excellent value!

Last minute, pleasantly surprised
Last minute reservation, like while we were on the subway from the airport. I was concerned about staying at a hostel, but was pleasantly surprised. Great location, very clean, easily accessible and the hostess who checked us in was very helpful. Couldn't ask for better.

Great stay in clean, central and quiet hotel.
Our stay at Hostal Santa Cruz was perfect! Chosen for proximity to Plaza Mayor and good value for money, but above expectations in terms of cleanliness and comfort. Very good standard.

Great location, cleanness, recommended.
The hotel is in the best location possible, it is small and simple, the rooms are small but you have everything you need and it is spotlessly clean. The only thing was that our double bed was really small - about 130 cm. Also, we had a small room with a window to a narrow yard, but that was fine.

You get what you pay....
Owners were nice, room very clean. Neighbors on above floor started walking w high heels at 6 am...too noisy! Towels were sun-dried, thus rough. But, it’s a Hostal, where you go only to sleep, cannot expect better for the price!!

Excellent location, half a block from Plaza Mayor and everything else you will need while visiting Madrid. Room was clean and very cozy. Staff was friendly and ready to assist, specially Paco and the cleaning crew. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back. Thank for your great service.

Hostel is on second floor right in centre of Madrid. Excellent location. Room small and basic but quite OK and clean. Rather noisy on occasions from another Hostal on floor above

Perfect hotel right in the city center...
Our stay had been a comfortable one and hassle-free. This hotel is just a stone throw away from Plaza Mayor and very near Metro station.

Great location, cafes are everywhere. Great security (card key just to get in floor plus cameras very where)the owner and employees were very polite Ava helpful . Roomwas a bit small but for what we wanted just to sleep at night it was perfect and very very clean .

Had a great stay. Easy checkin, room was very modern and clean and a great powerful hot shower. Great location, close to all the tourist locations and metro at Sol. The only downside was that we were put in a twin room when we had booked a triple room, as there was only two of us. But we still had to pay the triple room rate of €160 :(

Very convenient to attractions and restaurants
Great convenience was the best part. Just a 100 metres from the Sol Metro station, and really within walking distance of many attractions. Two lovely balconies from which to enjoy the passing scene. You certainly wouldn't go hungry here, restaurants from five paces outside the door! Staff very friendly. Only complaint - the shower in the rather small bathroom was very small, I ended up using one of the public showers. Would definitely use this hotel again if in Madrid.
