Unreasonable booking conditions(be aware)
Clean and functional. Great value and excellent position right at the heart of bars and restaurants. My only niggle is that I travel to Madrid quite often and have recently started to used this hostel but when I booked for my next trip in Feb 24 I put the wrong dates in and although Hotels.com reached out to them within a few minutes of my mistake they would not allow me to rebook for the correct dates without loosing all my money and re booking. Hence my low score and I will not be going back as they have lost my loyalty. (Without their unreasonable stance it would have been 10* to be fair.)

Very well located for Sol metro station and restaurants in the centre of Madrid however the AC didn't work in one of our rooms and leaked all over us in the second room we had. Also, the owners don't speak a word of English and the rooms are pretty small.

Great stay at Hostel Fuentensol! The hosts were great, very welcoming and friendly even though we did not speak much Spanish. Location is fantastic, close to everything and very easy to enter the property. Very clean. Would definitely stay here again for a few days in Madrid

Madrid nice spot
Very good place to stay in the heart of the city central to everywhere within walking distance of Palace and Prado and right next to Sol metro station.This place is ideal for anyone coming on a budget trip.

Perfect Location
Check in ends at 6pm however we sent the owner an email and he waited for us to check in at 8pm, which was awesome. The location is walking distance to everything! Rooms are small but super clean. I would definitely stay there again!

Right in the middle of everything.
Easy to walk everywhere or take the metro. Great places right there for good meals, and good coffee shops.

The location is excellent but apart from that this is not a hotel to recommend. It's extremely noisy at night. The shower inside the room started to leak a lot of water and the staff was very rude about it. Very unprofessional.

Nice convenient budget hotel
This is a budget hotel/room right in the centre of Madrid. Very little English spoken, however the receptionists were pleasant and helpful, allowing us to leave our bags until the evening on the day we checked out. Our en suite room suited our needs. Clean enough. Fridge, TV and a safe (one euro each time you open/close). Lift worked. Lots of eateries, bars with live music and the city tour bus etc just steps from the hotel. Great convenient location. Our only issue was the noise (revellers, rubbish collections etc) in the streets below well into the early hours - and beyond!! If you are looking for a convenient budget hotel right in the near Sol - this could be the place for you BUT TAKE YOUR EAR PLUGS!!

The room was small but that was expected. The staff were not always the most friendly, we could hear them arguing with each other and overall it was a little uncomfortable. Also if you don't speak spanish plan to have trouble communicating. The bathrooms were clean and the was a shower, but no toilet inside the room.

Super Central Hostal
Loved the location of this hostal. Amazingly close to Sol and Gran Via for the price. The rooms aren't large, but are very clean and there is 24 hour reception with good wifi in the rooms. I would stay here again!

The hotel was good for the price and the location is great as far as things to do in Madrid. The only reason I rated it low was because the owner was very rude from the beginning and after I asked for a sheet to cover up with in bed he became belligerent and disconnected the air conditioner while we were gone so that we could not use it the next night. We were sweating while attempting to sleep through the city that doesn't sleep. Needless to say, I would not stay there again.

We spent two nights at FuenteSol. The accommodations are very basic, but clean and perfectly adequate for a short transitional stay. The private bath was better than anticipated. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I stayed 2 nights in Hostal Fuentesol, in a single room. The room was fairly small, and there was a little shower inside but the toilets are shared in the hall. Overall, I thought the room and service was fine, since I was traveling by myself. I also think it might help to speak some Spanish with the staff (I did not try speaking in English, so I'm not sure). It was fairly economical, and the main attraction is the central location just adjacent to Sol, which is very convenient. I think there are some larger rooms with 2 beds for example, but for a solo traveler, I think this room is fine.

Great location for me as a singel travelr, street outside is Busy so not for light sleepers :) I arrrived late which wasnt a problem! I took Cab from airport, 30euros an it took no more Than 20 minuts- Back to airport i took Tube- so Easy!

Central Location But A Little Rough
On the whole I liked this place. Very central and all that entails - good and bad. It was really noisy even with my earplugs (standard packing item for Madrid). You plug a cord into a socket to turn on certain lights but all kind of fun if you approach it with the right spirit. Not a place for business travelers but more for people who want to be where the action is and and short stumble home from the many bars and sites close by. Not a place to go to recover from long flight etc. Front desk staff was nice and pleasant.

Sehr zentrale Lage, vieles fußläufig erreichbar. Die Metro-Station Sol liegt wenige Gehminuten entfernt, unmittelbar nahe des Hostals gibt es ein großes Gastronomie-Angebot, auch zum Frühstücken. Zimmer und Bad waren ausreichend groß und machten einen sauberen, renovierten Eindruck. Einziger Nachteil war ein fehlendes Fenster (Zimmer 16). Die funktionierende Klimaanlage konnte dies aber kompensieren. Die Schlüssel konnte man jederzeit mitnehmen, man ist also rund um die Uhr unabhängig.
