Great location. On our floor, hotel room doors were not soundproofed at all and there were loud noises from the hallways throughout the night. Also, another guest was given access to our room by accident and woke us up in the middle of the night, which was scary for my girlfriend. They apologized but took no other steps to make amends. Overall, I would probably not stay at the same place for the price although it was a decent hotel minus the bad experience and lack of soundproofing.

The stuff is very friendly. The hotel style is very artistic which I loved. The locations is super convenient for many turistic places in " la puerta del sol"

This hotel was terrible. There was only 1 TINY elevator that was so slow. It was old and getting remolded but not a place I would return too!

This hotel was a fantastic option for our family of 4. Our room had a beautiful little balcony and view of rooftops. The staff was friendly, breakfast was nice, bathrooms were very clean. I’d stay in our room again anytime!

This is extremely close to the center of all action in madrid. Just a few minutes away walk from the famous bear statue. The hotel is a little old. The breakfast is good.

Fantastic place! What a great location we did find our room dark and the bathroom fixtures were very lose everything worked but the bathroom needs to be painted and fixtures tightened. We would stay great again in a heartbeat as staff breakfast and location were great!

Absolutely loved the location as it is a safe & walkable area. The popular plazas, plaza del sol is a 2 minute walk. The breakfast was great - from pastries, meats, & cheese as well as assorted drinks. Our balcony had a view of the Christmas tree at plaza del sol & we were able to see the fireworks as well. Overall, staff was great & it was a great stay. Staff spoke English & was very eager & helpful in every way possible. The only thing I didn't like were the winding stairs; however, that kind of structure is normal in Spain. There was also a lot of noise at night on a Friday night, but that's normal.

The property is good and central to most of the Madrid attractions. The staff are very helpful and are also bilingual. My only complaint was that the AC was not working and the rooms are facing a busy street where you get folks partying into the early morning hours.

This is an older hotel. We like older hotels, so we don't freak out over a little wear on the property. They keep it clean and the staff was very friendly. It's located right in the heart of the Centro district. You can walk out the door and you're near everything. The Plaza del Canalejas is a block away and having tapas at the Taberna Sideria El Fontan Canalejas and watching all the people flowing by is now one of my favorite things to do on the planet. The hotel roof deck is a pretty cool spot too, as the rooftops in Madrid are their own ecosystem.

For the expensive price the hotel was very poor. Not very clean, noisy, broken shower, smelly, insects in common areas and bathroom. Poor lighting in room. Noisy air conditioning unit. Room overlooked by offices, so no privacy - only blackout curtains. Pleased we were only there for one night!

Not the best place for the money.
Great location, desk staff friendly, rooms are aged, ac does not work well at all, cleaning service only makes up room, not enough soap provided. Just lacks overall. I would call this a two star out of five us rating.

We stayed here for 3 night, the hotel is very clean, staff are very friendly and the location is just perfect; it's located in a walking distance to basically everywhere. I would definitely stay here again.

A nice above average and clean hotel for a good rate. The elevator/lift is TINY and slow so you need to exercise patience especially if you're on a higher floor and can't or don't want to walk the stairs. Also not being able to lower the temperature on the thermostat isn't great but luckily it was cool enough at night to leave the windows wide open and get good circulation. The hotel is right near many food and bar options near Santa Ana Plaza and the Metro is very close by. Very convenient and great for the price. Would book again!

This is a two-star hotel and this rating summarizes our experience pretty well. Pros are: friendly/helpful staff, super location, spacious room, clean, nice breakfast (included), good beds. Cons are: not convenient for mobility impaired people, smelly room, AC not working, no racks for suitcases, somewhat noisy because of late evening activities on the nearby street, no coffee or tea in the room.

This hotel is within walking distance of all the major tourist sites in Madrid and so is an ideal location. The staff could not be more welcoming , helpful and accommodating. Each room seems to be unique with every comfortable bed and bathroom. Some of the fittings are a bit old fashioned but none the worse for that. Air-con is very efficient. There is a small dining area and terrace on the roof where they serve an excellent breakfast. The whole area is full of restaurants and tapas bars so they don't have a restaurant. If I am back in Madrid I would use this hotel again

The hotel represents a great value, given the price and location! While the hotel is older, the rooms have high ceilings and operable windows. The bathroom was large. The only thing lacking was an in-room safe for valuables, but other than that, everything was great, including the staff which spoke English and was helpful. The hotel is located in old Madrid, the Metro stop is Seville.
