"It’s a beautiful large spacious building with some very excellent function rooms and leisure facilities. The staff were very friendly and very professional. The dining room and breakfast was excellent. The subdued lighting was probably beneficial to those with a slight hangover from the previous evening. We found the rooms warm, comfortable and functional but lacked artistic charm. The dominant feature being an oversized TV screen, which remained unused. We felt the corridors to the rooms were also devoid of interest, texture or charm. I was startled to find a live silverfish in the bag containing the rubber shower mat in the bathroom. I spent the remainder of our stay wondering where the others may be hiding. The room was to the rear of the hotel and the hotel has an extensive car park at the rear. The noise from the car park disturbed our sleep as people came and went. This was especially disturbing after 01:00 am and also around 03:00 hrs. Some additional soundproofing may help with this."

"This was an amazingly good find as this hotel was excellent. Everything about it was more than expected, very comfortable and large rooms, well equipped with everything you need and of high quality. The staff from the 1st contact could not have done any more to make our stay comfortable. To cap it all, the food was superb, local produce with an excellent choice on the menu. Special mention must go to having a couple of Tunnocks Tea Cakes alongside the coffee machine, a nice touch. The fruit basket was the healthy option (nice) but the tea cakes, excellent !"

"There is a lot involved with the decor in this place, so expect some dust in harder to clean areas. That said, we rented the upper suite and the unit was huge compared to most. It was great to have 2 ensuite bathrooms. Notably, the shower on the second floor of the upstairs unit had issues with consistency of flow and temperature, possibly when others were touching the faucets in other rooms (unconfirmed). There is some traffic noise from the street out front, but overall, this place was fabulous and we would definitely stay there again."
